jonathansfrakes: We also lost the #TNG writer who gave Dixon Hill to Picard and put the trombone in Riker's world. RIP #MauriceHurley

Have you guys seen his TV credits before Star Trek. Tons of stuff. I watch a lot of old TV shows and westerns and it's not uncommon to see him playing an Indian. He and Shatner were on an episode of "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." together two years before Trek. I saw that episode as a kid and I knew who Shatner was, but not Nimoy. He's also in some old movies, including the science fiction classic, THEM! (1954). One film of his I'd love to see is KID MONK BARONI (1952), his first starring role (the title role).
I saw that episode of "The Man from Uncle" on TV last month and it surprised the heck out of me. Nimoy was the henchman. The villain was Werner Klemperer.

Re: RIP Leonard Nimoy (1931-2015)

Sad, but not shocked. He was in really bad shape in recent years, especially on Fringe.

It's freaking amazing the difference between him and Bill Shatner and they're both the same age. Shatner has the energy of a 50-60 year old. Shatner is still working at 83. He has a major part in the 2nd half of the 5th season of Haven.

Still pretty amazing that Nimoy worked into his 80's. He was supposedly quitting acting for good after his arc on Fringe, but did a few more things including Into Darkness.

RIP, I hope he, DeForest and Jimmy Doohan are reunited in the afterlife.

Re: RIP Leonard Nimoy (1931-2015)

I can still remember vividly the first time seeing Star Trek. We were visiting family that actually had a color TV. We didn't watch the show but they put it on telling my dad "you have to see this show" All those colors were amazing. Wish I could remember the episode. After that my parents let me stay up to watch it but it definitely wasn't as good in B&W. I really got into it when it started playing every day after school in the 70's. Like most kids Spock was my favorite character; he was smart, strong and didn't stop to bang every green bitch that came along like Kirk did.

The track "Spock Thoughts" from one of Leonard Nimoy's old music album in which he recites "Desiderata" by Max Ehrmann is getting a lot of play

One of my favorite things he's done is as the narrator in the Dreamcast game Seaman. He'd gove you a rundown of what's happening with the creatures each time you start up the game. "Welcome to the laboratory of Jean-Paul Gasse..."

Never played that one, but in a similar role, he is the voice of Civilization IV. His reading of the many famous quotes used in the game is pure gold.

Re: RIP Leonard Nimoy (1931-2015)

I think I know what his entry to Heaven was like.

* Leonard Nimoy walks up to the last king of Heaven

King of Heaven: "Who dare disturbs my coronation?"

Leondard Nimoy: "Coronation, Starscream? This is bad comedy. Here's a hint!"

* Leonard Nimoy transforms into artillery and disintegrates the last King of Heaven

Angels: "What did he say his name was?"

Leonard Nimoy: "Leonard Nimoy"

Angels: "All hail Leonard Nimoy! Leonard Nimoy!"

* Leonard Nimoy grabs a flaming sword. He looks down.

Leonard Nimoy: "Lucifer, with this I shall make you my slave."

Leonard Nimoy commences to lead an attack on Hell. Eventually he gets to the heart of the capital city of Pandemonium, storms the palace, and confronts Lucifer on his throne. He readies the sword.

Leonard Nimoy: "First Baal, then Beelzebub, and now you. It's a pity you demons die so easily. Or else I might have had a sense of satisfaction. I will crush you just like Megatron crushed Prime!"

(I know most people know him as Spock but to me, he was Galvatron).

William Shatner will not be attending Leonard Nimoy's funeral. Cites a prior commitment to a Red Cross Charity Ball in Florida.

Nimoy would be proud of Shatner, remaining Shatner.

Shatner also didn't attend George Takei's wedding. Citing he wasn't invited.
