Wow. Didn't even know he went to the hospital some days ago. Wow. Such a cool guy.

I was hoping he'd be around for the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek next year, but...I guess that ain't happening. :(

Have you guys seen his TV credits before Star Trek. Tons of stuff. I watch a lot of old TV shows and westerns and it's not uncommon to see him playing an Indian. He and Shatner were on an episode of "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." together two years before Trek. I saw that episode as a kid and I knew who Shatner was, but not Nimoy. He's also in some old movies, including the science fiction classic, THEM! (1954). One film of his I'd love to see is KID MONK BARONI (1952), his first starring role (the title role).

I think this one hits me because he was a favorite of mine watching Star Trek growing up and I hadn't realized that he was even sick until the news broke a couple of days ago. So to me it just seems sudden but he was older and I guess looking back he has had some issues.

I just found out that he and Shatner were born four days apart. Shatner's older by four days!

Hope people don't take this the wrong way, but given how he looked and sounded quite often on Fringe, I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. I remember saying to a friend (when discussing the episode that aired the night before) while I love that they got him to be part if the cast, I hoped that he didn't get worse and have to be suddenly written out.

Spock was probably the most beloved fictional character that there was in my childhood. Even watching the original series now I'm still amazed at Mr. Nimoy's true brilliance in the role. He was one of a kind and a genuinely good gentleman.

I was wondering what the "LLAP" stood for on Twitter and then I realized it stands for "Live Long And Prosper"

Also in one of the better known OUTER LIMITS episodes I, ROBOT. AIP cheapie THE BRAIN EATERS and Republic serial ZOMBIES OF THE STRATOSPHERE.

Now that I think about. I believe the newer OUTER LIMITS series remade the episode, also with Nimoy in a different role.

I have a feeling Shatner's going to outlive the entire original cast. The guy is 83 (almost 84) going on 60.

There better be a "Dedicated to Leonard Nimoy" on the front of STAR TREK 3 next summer.

Shatner is going to be the last man standing.

Hopefully, he'll be mentioned at next year's Oscars as well as this year's Emmys.

Such a great eloquent and unique actor. Something about his uniqueness that was always striking on film. He was awesome in Columbo, you can always see the badass behind those eyes.

Yeah admittedly he did look his age towards the end but I guess I didn't realize he was in poor health. You could even tell back in the Abrams reboot film that he didn't seem to have quite the same energy (yet still gave a really good performance).

Off topic but it amazes me how good Shatner looks at his age. He's pretty much the same age as Nimoy was and honestly he looks fricken fantastic. If I didn't know I'd say he was more in his sixties or seventies personally.
