I guess his inactive lifestyle of not doing anything finally caught up with him..

Unless there was a recent In Search of... that I'm not aware of. Definitely possible. I don't keep up with things as much as I used to since my daughter was born.

My first memory of seeing his work was actually not Spock. It was M:I since my dad was a huge fan and never missed and episode.

RIP. Another piece of my childhood is gone.

I noticed the multiple threads as well, but you know what, Nimoy's career is one of the few that transcends television, cinema and pop culture.

RIP Mr. Nimoy. Maybe one day, Sheldon Cooper will clone us a new you with your DNA sampling on his napkin.

Holy shit! Dude is so awesome he gets 3 threads!

Re: Leonard Nimoy R.I.P.

Like I said in the other thread it definitely sucks to lose another childhood hero. Sad day for sure and he'll be missed. I wonder if he was able to film anything for the new Star Trek film. I'm assuming not with the problems the film has had to date. I always sort of hoped we'd get one final reunion with him and Shatner on screen.

So true.

Merging the three threads together into TV Talk since he was primarily known for his TV work.

I'm guessing that thread was retitled? ;) Agreed that he's better known from TV, but I'm a movie guy through and through, thus my instinctual posting of it in that forum. Glad the moderator tidied things up. :)

I'm deeply saddened by this. A piece of my childhood is gone.

He had a good run and left respected and admired. Can't ask for much more than that.

I'll not only miss his humor, but I'll also miss his excellent work as a narrator on documentaries. I swear, it could be a documentary on getting grass stains out of jeans, but if Leonard Nimoy is narrating it - I'm in.

Very sad day, but I'm still smiling at all the silly pics here. To me that is the best legacy one can leave behind: to be mourned and celebrated at the same time.
