Grodd hasn't used any mind control powers yet. He did speak to the military guy in his mind but that isn't mind control.

Can Grodd talk out loud? I guess having him speak with his mind saves them $$$ by not having to move the cg gorilla's lips to match the words.

This storyline that they touched on with Barry possibly doing some time travel to save his Mom has me intrigued. I wonder if they will hold that until the finale?

And why the heck is The Flash taking a break, but Arrow is not?
Arrow is too, but not until after the episode on the 25th.

Gorilla Grodd in the comics didn't need a helmet or device to use his mental powers, although I'm sure he did use a device to amplify them from time to time. I always got the impression that the "helmet" was something he was given in merchandising to make him look more like a supervillain gorilla. That then crossed back over to cartoons and what not.

Grodd was always my favorite of the Flash villians and still is, although I don't care for the way he's currently depicted in the New 52 era, or even cared much for his depictions in the last 15 years. Classic Grodd though...yeah baby!

Another good episode.

Really enjoyed the Firestorm duo.

Bit miffed they offer the General. You know that would make some sort of news and raise questions.

I didn't mind Iris in this episode. Still have no desire to see her get together with Barry. At least the news angle gives her a plot reason.

Really enjoying this show. Please don't let the writers jump ship after one season like so many other shows I have enjoyed over the years.

I think much of the staff from Arrow season two came over for Flash season one. The loss of talent is pretty obvious on Arrow this season.

Both actors are great in their Firestorm roles but I must say that Victor Garber is playing Stein like a champ.

5, 10, 15 years ago...they would have made Grodd some kind of Human with Mind Control skills. Now we get an actual fuckin' big ass Gorilla that talks and fucks with minds.

Agreed. I want a Firestorm show where Ronnie and Stein travel the country like the old Hulk show.

That is what makes this Flash series so great. You just know that ten years ago a Flash series would have tossed out his costume, wouldn't have used his actual rogues' gallery, and we wouldn't be getting any of these awesome comic book storylines like time travel or Reverse Flash.

That sounds like a great idea. I will now steal that idea and give you a meaningless executive producer credit in exchange.

No one will address the fact that pizza still takes time to cook and there is no way Barry could have sped that up?

I can buy a talking Gorilla that controls minds...but that pizza scene was pushing it.

Funny piece about the bad girlfriends found on superhero shows, including Iris on The Flash.

6 male screenwriters (two who are show runners) and 4 female screenwriters (none of which are show runners) and Agent Carter is "a show run by women"?

The place where he got the pizza is like Little Ceasars - the pizzas are already made/cooked and are in a heater waiting to be bought.

Guess he snatched it and just left cash on the counter, because he didn't even allow time to interact with payment.

As far as Iris goes, I actually like her a lot and think the chemistry between her and Barry is good. (Unlike Laurel and Arrow, where Laurel is someone you just wish would leave the show already.)

That said, they've made Iris' relationship with her boyfriend too strong and broken the triangle between her and Barry. If anything, it appears they're setting something up between Barry and Caitlin, given her longing looks at him after they talk about finding new relationships.

I didn't agree with its conclusion either. Agent Carter is not a superhero show and was always aimed at a female audience from the beginning by Marvel and ABC. The observations about some of the girlfriends, especially Lana Lang on Smallville, were pretty accurate.

What was left unsaid in the piece is that the fanbase for superhero entertainment is overwhelmingly male and mostly there to see the superhero action and adventure, not follow the realistic dating lives of their alter egos. There are plenty of other shows on television aimed at detailing realistic relationships.

Which is why the upcoming Supergirl series will be very interesting in how they handle these issues. That one does seem like it will be geared more for the female demo.

One look at Jimmy "Sexy" Olsen and you know it's geared towards women.

Re: The Flash (S1E14) -- "Fallout" -- 2/17/15

So wait, i heard a guy on youtube SPECUALTE the show will have
Spoiler:
2 Reverse Flash characters. Both kinda bad but one less bad than the other. Dr Wells and some other Reverse Flash I'm guessing.

I'm sure this has been brought up here already. I don't read every single post so forgive if it's a rehash.
