That ending felt like a season finale. Can't even imagine what they're going to come up with next week.

RIP Henry That was an interesting year and a half stint.

I don't expect John Noble to take another TV job right away, but when he does go back to work again, hopefully signs on to a gig worthy of his talents.

Really enjoying this show. It did feel that her shift was a bit harsh and goes against many things she has said before.

I know there is pressure from the network but Katrina went dark side pretty damn fast. There as been 10 minutes of buildup over two episodes.

Time travel is so not a good idea for black characters. Abbie needs to get back to the present quickly. Katrina's turn was kinda sudden but I'm just happy they've given her character something to do so I'll overlook it.

I was thinking the same thing. It played like one of those cliffhangers where the next season will have a whole new setting.

Katrina's turn was less convincing than even Anakin to Darth Vader in the prequels.

I really like this show, however I have to agree with this. It was just too fast. Okay, I understand liking the idea and such, yet now having an issue with someone she cared so much far ten minutes ago? This normally would have required more buildup then two episodes.

More like Dark Shadows

Witch Angelique>Katrina
and now present day characters traveling to colonial past

Seemed to be a lot of "jump" editing. Like a cancelled show that has to condense 4 or 5 episodes in 2 to finish the story.

The idea that Crane was a personal friend of every historical figure and had a hand in orchestrating every historical event has become eye rolling stupid.

Crane was the Forrest Gump of the American Revolutionary War.

Her turn has been building up for most of the season. Henry's reappearance expedited the process. Don't forget that she was poisoned by Henry as well. That probably had more to do with it than anything else.

Re: Sleepy Hollow (S2E17) -- "Awakening" -- 2/16/15

I don't mind the sudden shift for Katrina. It wasn't out of character because she didn't really have one.

And there were hints that Katrina wasn't exactly an angel all season. There's the still the cloudy circumstances around the death of Crane's English would-be paramour.

While this season has not been as good as the first, I would hate to see the series go. I wonder if the lack of gonzo this year is the result of meddling from the network - make the series more traditional to broaden its appeal sounds like something network execs would demand.

With this last episode, Sleepy Hollow is now at Under the Dome levels of stupid.

It needs to be put out of its misery.

If it does come back for a third season, I don't think I'll be around. they've made such a mess of the underlying mythology since Moloch was killed off that I don't think there's anything salvageable at this point.

Nothing is as stupid as Under the Dome. Compared to that show Sleepy Hollow on a scale of 1 to 10 rates a million. I'd stare at the crap I just took for a hour before watching another episode of Under the Dome.

I think we're pretty far from Under the Dome levels of brilliance.

So just because Henry decides to say, "I love you mommy" Katrina decides to turn evil? That makes no sense. I kept on expecting her to say, "Fooled you!" at any moment.

I wish Dark Shadows was streaming someplace.

Anyhow, they've layered in subtle hints about Katrina being untrustworthy and she and Crane having issues, but until last week, not much hinting that she had a dark side. Now all of a sudden she's Dark Willow? Ever since they killed off Moloch, they've been meandering all over the place with monsters of the week. Now this seems to have come out of left field. Katrina's character was a bit too thinly sketched to begin with, but this still seems way out of character, especially given what she went through to make sure Crane was a witness. They've dropped most of the mythology altogether now-no Moloch, no Horsemen, and the whole "role as witnesses" thing is now incredibly vague. What evil are they stopping now? The show needs some sort of new big bad.

Katrina's turn didn't come out of nowhere. She's been trying to recover her powers all season long. Solomon Kent told her that she needed to embrace her dark side to become powerful. She realized that was true at the end of that episode. Then she had that dream that wasn't a dream and was poisoned by Henry.

I mostly agree, though her turning on Crane so quickly did seem out of character. I am fairly sure I predicted her turn in an earlier Sleepy Hollow thread. The producers were likely looking for a way to cut budget and give the network a preview of what a season three might look like. The only way this show possibly comes back is if the producers work a deal with the network and cut their price.

Killing off Henry saves them Noble's salary, who was likely making more money than the actual leads. Katrina would be the Big Bad of season three, so you wouldn't have to get another actor for a new villain.

Re: Sleepy Hollow (S2E17) -- "Awakening" -- 2/16/15

Seems pretty cleat that the quick 180 is all abut setting up Katrina is the new big bad and to have it all revolve around witchcraft. The character 180's are pretty ridiculous if you think of them in any other way.

That said I could get behind a season that takes place in 1781. Even the issues that presents for the Abbie character could work if they handle it well.

Boy - I got whiplash from Katrina's change in character, but I can chalk it up to being under Henry's influence.

I love the way 'Sleepy Hollow' looks, but man oh man so many of the episodes have just been horrible (AI Thomas Jefferson, I'm looking at you!)....

The hologram Thomas Jefferson made no sense. They must have been on a deadline or something.
