I'm kind of questioning AMC's decision to air this on Monday nights. It seems like it would make more sense having it on Sunday and having The Walking Dead as its lead in.

They're seeing how it does on its own, I know it sounds stupid but Talking Dead is a big money maker for them since it costs absolutely nothing to produce.

I know they tried Hell on Wheels on Friday? or Saturdays? but come on...
Also, personally, Sundays are stacked for me right now. HBO, Showtime, AMC... too many shows on one night. Mondays are light with only 1 or 2 shows I DVR.

Sunday night is where things are working though. Personally to me it would make more sense to start this show paired with The Walking Dead for at least the first season. Make sure it gets a solid start and built in fan-base (not necessarily everyone who watched Breaking Bad will instantly watch) then move it later if they really want to. Plus personally I don't ever see AMC having a bunch of original programming that they'll be able to fill multiple nights with anytime soon so it makes sense to keep their Sunday night of original programming strong.

I too am curious to see how the Monday airings fare. Personally, I'm not a fan and would prefer they stick with the Sunday night model.
I remember HBO tried this several years ago for a season of Six Feet Under. Needless to say, it didn't last long and was ultimately moved back to Sunday's.

I listened to Odenkirk on the Opie & Jimmy show last week and he was talking about how Sunday's are just a juggernaut now with Game of Thrones coming up and what not so they went with Mondays.

Will this actually start at 10/9 tonight? I noticed the pilot re-airs at 9/8. I guess they are condensing the 75 mins into 1 hour with fewer commercials or something.

Really though Game of Thrones is the main competition on Sunday nights. Football isn't on this time of year and The Walking Dead is on AMC so it would only benefit Better Call Saul to have it as a lead-in.

Man, what a great episode this was.
Great suspense with Tuco.
Hilarious montage with Mike and the stickers.
Great final 3rd act with the proposition at the end.
the Michael McKean scenes have been a bore to sit through, though.

It's funny how I know that Saul wasn't going to die, but knowing how crazy Tuco is... I was still worried about what was going to happen. That scene in the desert was great.
And I agree, the stuff with the brother brings the show to a screeching halt.

I like the show so far, but I do not like Tucco, so I hope they ditch him sooner rather than later. I almost bailed on BB because of him.

The New Mexico desert is practically its own character. Glad we got a scene out there early on...and a great one at that.

Another solid episode. Really liking the series way more than I expected to. I liked the stuff with Tuco a lot actually, he's such a crazy character and the actor really sells it. I thought the two kids were toast. I don't know how to feel about Chuck yet. He seems like he could be an interesting character but thus far I agree his segments are probably the weakest aspect of the series. There needs to be more explanation as to why he is the way he is, which I'm sure will unfold eventually.
I also feel bad for Jimmy/Saul in ways. He's a scumbag but yet it seems like he's trying to do the right thing and make ends meet. I liked the end scene with Tuco's partner and I'm wondering if that's Jimmy's first foray into assisting criminals or if the writers just want us to think that. It sort of seems early on to lead the character down that path as it seems like at the moment he just is desperate for a big case but obviously he'll turn at some point. I also wonderder if Tuco and his crew become recurring characters or not. Depending how they're used I wouldn't mind seeing his partner show up on occasion and maybe a rare Tuco appearance.
Definitely excited to see what happens the rest of the season!!

Fantastic episode. I'm so glad they decided to go ahead with this show.
I also liked rewatching the first episode and catching little things I didn't notice before. That full music video for the theme song was a cool touch as well.
Hope the ratings stay up.
