Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas
Watched my first Meghan Markle movie, Daters Handbook from a few years ago. She was fine, and I watched it more for Kristoffer Polaha.

Vudu has some $5.99 titles in their Valentine’s Day Sale: The Wedding Match, Remember Sunday (HOF with Alexis Bledell and Zachary Levi), Unleashing Mr Darcy, Love at First Bark, and Love Romance and Chocolate (Lacey Chabert, 2019), Marrying Mr Darcy, The Beach House (HOF, Andie MacDowell, Minka Kelly), Love on Safari (Chabert 2019), A Country Wedding (Autumn Reeser). They’re buried in the $9.99 and under list.

Love on Safari is decent with an atypical setting for a Hallmark production.

Lacey's been using these movies to get some paid vacations.

Love On Safari - Johannesburg, South Africa
Winter in Vail - Vail, Colorado
Love, Romance, & Chocolate - Bruges, Belgium
Christmas in Rome - Rome, Italy

Adam Sandler has been doing the same thing for years.

After they lost Lori Loughlin, they’ll give her anything she wants.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas
Just watched the new Valentine’s movies with Taylor Cole and Bethany Joy Lenz (Matching Hearts, with Cole running a matchmaking service, and A Valentine’s Match, in which ambitious career girl Lenz returns to her hometown where her old flame still lives—what a new concept!). Both were fine, and Lenz was almost unrecognizable as a blonde.

I couldn’t find this on the schedule so I checked Osnes’ Instagram, and she said it’s been moved to August on Hallmark Now streaming. I don’t have that service so I’m bummed. I guess there could be a free trial.
"In the Key of Love" (which was originally intended to be a "June Weddings" film) will still premiere on the Hallmark Channel Saturday night at 9pm/8c.

This is the Laura Osnes movie you were looking to watch, right?

Also, I just watched The Secret Ingredient, with Erin Cahill and Brendan Penny on a cooking competition show. A little light on the cooking, but I liked it. Makes me realize just often they use a cooking theme in these movies.

Random bump but I've been wondering how the Covid-19 crisis has effected the Hallmark channel and their production of movies and tv shows.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas
I assume they have shut down production like everyone else. But they tend to have movies in the can months and months before premiere - like right now they would normally be filming the Hallmark movies for Christmas 2020. So their normal schedule may not be disrupted for a few months.

Speaking of Hallmark, I recently caught Just My Type with Bethany Joy Lenz. Really enjoyable romance between a magazine writer and author. Lenz seems to choose the best possible scripts for her Hallmark projects, which isn't always the case for some of Hallmark's leading ladies.

Well I'm using this stay at home time to catch up on the Signed Sealed Delivered series. I know they are available digitally but I like collecting the dvds and I have 5 more movies to purchase and my collection will be complete. I'm on the tv series right now and I'm on the last episode. I'm glad they stuck to making these stories as movies because the hour long show just isn't working for me.

I've liked what I've seen of that franchise but have missed more than half of them. Quality seems hit or miss between each movie.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas
iTunes has a few Hallmark Christmas movies on sale for $4.99. Included are a few of the most recent releases that came out this past year digitally.

Titles are:
Christmas in the Air
Eat, Play, Love
Rocky Mountain Christmas
Christmas Made to Order
Godwink Christmas
The Christmas Cure
Love Struck Cafe

Also looks like Amazon Prime HD prices are currently being matched.

Write Before Christmas is still $4.99 on Amazon. This appeared on sale on iTunes a week or so ago.

Thamks again for the tip. I watched it today, and thought it was good, and Osnes got to show off her pipes a bit.

Interesting that the second-banana couple was mixed (black-white), which might not be unheard of, but certainly isn’t common.

Caught an older movie with Danica McKellar, Campfire Kiss. Despite enjoying the cast, a so-so romance drags down a dull plot.

I am sorry but I just don't think Danica is a good actress. To me, she is just not very convincing. I wish I could say otherwise. None of the movies I have seen her with inspire me to buy them.

On the other hand I just love Jen Lilley, Candace, Lacey, Lindy and I own several of their titles.

I can see that. She doesn't have the greatest emotional range as an actress. A couple of the Hallmark stars don't pull off the "falling in love" bit of each movie very credibly. I won't name names, but one or two come off as women that probably aren't very nice in their personal lives.

Gave Welcome To Christmas a watch with Jennifer Finnigan and Eric Mabius as leads. The 2018 movie just didn't do it for me. A bland, disposable Hallmark effort marred by limp romantic chemistry. Never really thought much of Mabius as a Hallmark lead despite the successful Signed, Sealed, Delivered franchise. Finnigan is better in her regular network gigs.

Christmas In Angel Falls is great, one of the very best Hallmark Christmas movies. A heartwarming, feel-good Christmas movie that hits all the right notes. Easily the best one with Rachel Boston that I've seen.

Phantom, c'mon...don't leave me hanging. Name names please.

I like Danica McKellar but actually agree with the poster who is meh on her as a love interest in Hallmark films. The one mentioned I think was Campfire Kiss and I remember actually thinking to myself after watching when it originally aired that it should have been so much better than it was (considering that I liked the cast).

I will just assume that Jen Lilley is not on your list of Hallmark ladies who do not pull off the "falling in love" bit of their films, and there are a few other names that I hope are not on the list. I admit there have been times when I was more interested in seeing the leads female bff at the office or wherever get a chance to shine in the film because they were great in the role they had.
