The Walking Dead (S5E07) -- "Crossed" -- 11/23/14

Between holding down the church and going on a rescue mission, our group is spread pretty thin. Is this going to be the breaking point?

Episode 7 of 16

Posting this now along with a few other threads. Going to be gone all day tomorrow on a job.

Define "live"? Do you mean that you find it looks like it's at 60fps instead of 24fps?

I feel like Daryl's fist would have been a better choice than finding the eye sockets of a living zombie by touch alone but whatever.

And the sound effect of Eugene waking up sound like he had turned, which is what I was expecting. Ah well.

Not a lot happened in this one but it was enjoyable enough.

Another episode where Maggie doesn't mention her missing sister or care enough to look for her.

If Beth was my sister, I wouldn't care either. Emily Kinney's atrocious acting drives me up the wall. How did she get hired? You can't tell me there wasn't ANYONE else better?

Cant be worse than 'CORAL'. That kid is the most annoying thing about the entire show.

This has been the visual I have noticed for the past few episodes. I haven't seen any of the old 'gritty' look for some time.

So any guesses as to what Tara found in the backpack? Medicine?

That whole scene where we heard Eugene wake up was just weird, He definitely sounded like he had turned... how Maggie didnt hear that was pretty stupid. Then the truck blocks what happens when she goes to him. This episode bored me.

Kirkman addressed this earlier in the month.

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E07) -- "Crossed" -- 11/23/14

Another somewhat boring episode for me; I actually liked the moments with Glenn, Rosita, and Tara filtering water and fishing but that was about it. I'm just really disliking anything involving these hospital guys, and the ending with the cop knocking out Sasha just seemed silly to me, if not predictable. After an excellent couple of episodes to start the season, it seems limping a long to that mid-season break.

Didn't really notice anything with the picture in this episode; looked pretty normal to me.

HOW can you still trust people, and a captive at that? What a dum dum. What's worse, it was so obviously telegraphed that the shocking thing to have done would've been had he NOT been pulling shenanigans.

They at least attempted to sell it by having the cop being somewhat convincing as a basically good guy living amongst some worse guys (and gals). Also, Sasha had the talk earlier with Tyreese about people helping each other to deal with the atrocities of the new world. That said, I was irritated by it as well. I basically knew it would happen the whole time, but not how. I thought he might grab her gun since she was being so nonchalant about everything (sitting close to him, etc.).

The filtering water bit bugged me. Why sit there and filter it? Take as much as you can carry and filter it when you're back with the group. Drip drip drip would've taken forever.

I didn't think Eugene had turned. While he made a sound like a walker, initially, he was also trying to say something.

Perhaps he was trying to emulate the Wicked Witch of the West with one slight variance.

My first thought was she found pot in the backpack and they get high.

Thanks for the article, but I don't buy Kirkman's explanation that Maggie probably assumes Beth is dead and simply hasn't had time to mourn her (or her dad). We just had 4 slow episodes in a row, giving the characters plenty of down time. Hell, the episode where Bob was taken by the cannibals showed everyone in the church taking a breather right before he was taken. Did she mention her dad or sister then? Nope. It's just bad writing.

Well, it could also be why Maggie was so "Get the fuck over it, this is the best we're going to be", because she does carry that fact that her sister may be dead. Only hasn't vocalized it just yet.

Thanks for posting this link, so the bitching can stop about this plot point from everyone. As Gene Hackman said in The Firm, "Everyone mourns in different ways."

Good episode last night, as everything has built to the mid-season finale.

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E07) -- "Crossed" -- 11/23/14

Gabriel is done for. Stepping on that nail will definitely infect his foot.

I was bugged that we didn't see Daryl and Noah arrive (and why would they go through the woods?) They could've simply drove up to the church and said, 'we're back!." And no discussion about the electricity that the hospital has. What if they accidentally kill the doctor? So many contrived scenes this season. Bad writing.
