Or they weren't a threat, so why kill them?

The van thing was really really dumb.

I'm not a fan of what they're doing with the timelines and filling in the story. We know Carol gets to the hospital...then we have a full episode of the Eugene group... and then we get a 45 minute episode explaining the events that lead to Carol getting to the hospital and already know that Daryl went back to the church with somebody (Noah presumably). At this point I don't care to know how she got there - I just know she's there and Daryl went back to the church - it just feels like filler when we know the basic outcome already. The show is moving forward way too slowly.

They've killed many many walkers who weren't a threat at all in the past - it made no sense to leave them there when there was a better chance for them to become a threat. It's lazy writing to get the outcome they need.

I think maybe next week when Carol gets examined by the doctor they are going to find something seriously wrong with her. She seemed like she got pretty banged up during the van incident and then again when she got knocked over during the Daryl/Noah situation.

Then why kill the ones zipped up in the sleeping bags?

The sleeping bag walkers were easy to dispatch. The ones in the tents not so much.

Teeth in the open are still a threat, but if a walker can't get out of a tent, it's basically in a hamster ball.

I'm getting old because I'm finding the pacing mostly good. Guess I simply enjoy the tension.

Carol's pic can't beat Maggie. Who going to be on the next pic. Beth?

Killer score on this episode. Something like Jon Brion.

Still don't care for the song choices.

Another good episode.

My DVR didn't even record it at all for some reason. It's the only time I've had an issue with it this season. Will have to cast a repeat showing I guess.

Were there many people who DIDN'T think this plotline would play out exactly like it has? I don't get your beef with JZ. Let it go.

I didn't have a problem with leaving the tent zombies, either. They were trapped and fumbling aroud. Hitting the skull on the first try when you can't see the zombie would be challenging. So you'd essentially have to cut the tent open to get at it. No need to take that unnecessary risk. Better off leaving it be.

The sleeping bag guys are in prime ankle biting range. Made perfect sense to take them out.

i thought that scene was funny too from an editing standpoint, but i'm not going to complain about it. it was inconsequential. i also agree that leaving the zombies in tents was fine. they were fumbling around inside and there was no way they could get out. they were not a threat. now you going into one trying to kill it was dangerous and would require too much risk. killing the sleeping bag ones is fine. that made sense.

Any X-Files fans notice the brand of cigarettes that Daryl ended up smoking?

The van's fall was incredibly stupid of course, but I imagine the production crew ran out of ideas on how to have it fall. This was a pretty good episode simply because Darryl is by far the best character on The Walking Dead. I'd take Norman Reedus as an actor over the rest of the cast, combined.

I'm not a huge fan of going back in the narrative when we already know how these characters wind up. It's a storytelling technique that barely works in two-hour films, much less 16-episode seasons.

Daryl and Carol would have had broken necks and backs had the first and actual fall been used.

My boss got rear ended a few years ago and she still has neck problems from it. I thought either would have walked away unhurt even if it landed on the wheels.

I noticed and almost said something until I saw this:

I was checking to see if any other shows had thought to do this before.

Yep.

It also means that Walking Dead takes place in an autistic kid's head.
