That's weird, you watched the show but not the movies?

The TWS crossover completely reinvigorated the show in the second half and finally have it some direction, IMO.

I watched about half of the first Season and bailed

Watched The Avengers (thought it sucked) and both Thor movies. Didn't bother with Captain America or Iron Man 3.

The last Marvel film in the Avengers Universe I liked was Nortons Hulk.

This is the first BR TV Set (and only 2nd set ever) I have bought since Smallville ended.

The next year or so TV purchase on BR:
1. AofS Season 2 if it is any good (I am sure the tie in with A2 will be great)
2. Flash (a must buy, huge flash fan from the 70s)
3. Teen Titans (that me be a year or two down the road)

I VERY much looking forward to the Marvel stuff on NetFlix, but I most likely will not buy on BR.

Avengers is okay. The first hour is dreadfully dull.

I suspect season 2 will continue the trend and have crossovers with phase 3 movies like Ant-Man and Doctor Strange.
Season 2 will be over before Ant-Man or Dr. Strange come out. Dr. strange isn't out until July 2016, so season 4 is likely the earliest that might tie in.

Ah yeah. I wasn't paying attention to the dates. That would be a very long season 2 if it went all the way to 2016.

So I guess Age of Ultron is the only movie that will actually be released at the same time season 2 is airing, and so it will likely be the only one to have a crossover.

I think the only way this sticks around past season 2 is if Disney keeps it on life support to push the Marvel brand. I don't see AoS becoming any kind of hit.

I have been binge watching AOS season 1 for the past week, and guess what? It's pretty good when you watch it like that, especially with the events of Winter Soldier in mind. I am really looking forward to season 2.

As long as ratings are decent, there is no way ABC cancels this.

'Agents of SHIELD': Blair Underwood Set as Melinda May's Ex (Exclusive)
7:00 AM PST 12/11/2014 by Lesley Goldberg

Two-time Golden Globe nominee Blair Underwood has boarded Marvel's second-year drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Underwood, whose TV credits include NBC's sci-fi drama The Event and its remake of Ironside, will have a recurring role and play May's (Ming-Na Wen) estranged ex-husband Dr. Andrew Garner. The actor will make his debut in a March episode and begins filming the role this week.

The Agents of SHIELD arc will be the L.A. Law alum's first visit to the Marvel universe. His more recent credits include earning a Critics Choice nom for Lifetime's TV movie A Trip to Bountiful. He reprised that role opposite Cicely Tyson and Vanessa Williams for the past few months onstage in in Los Angeles and Boston after spending the summer starring in the Old Globe's production of Othello. On Broadway, his credits include the starring role as Stanley in A Streetcar Named Desire in 2012.

The casting also brings Underwood back into the ABC fold where he starred on Ditty Sexy Money. His credits also include CBS' The New Adventures of Old Christine and HBO's In Treatment. He's repped by ICM Partners and Thruline.

Underwood joins a roster of high-profile guest-stars on Agents of SHIELD this season, including Lucy Lawless and Adrianne Palicki, among others.

Agents of SHIELD airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.

Not a name from the comics (I think). Then again, I don't think Melinda May was a pre-existing comics character either.

But any time you can get Blair Underwood, I'm on board.

The name is a super obscure comic character, so I doubt there's any connection (plus the character is a mutant).

But now that means Mack has to die sometime this season to keep the status quo... :P

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” has just added another new face for its March return to ABC with Edward James Olmos!

Olmos will play Robert Gonzales, whose debut this spring in “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will have massive repercussions for Director Coulson and his team.

“Edward James Olmos brings an amazing gravitas to any role he inhabits, something we knew we needed for Robert Gonzales,” said Executive Producer and Marvel’s Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “When Olmos first appears on our series, everyone will have to take notice--including our favorite Agents.”
