Notorious' episode order was cut from 13 to 10.

Not cancelled officially, but extremely unlikely to get another season.

Looks like I don't have to catch up with this show then. Bummer.

Any word on Quarry? I liked the show. Very gritty with a tone similar to S1 True Detective.

Lucifer officially gets a full 22 episode season: http://deadline.com/2016/10/lucifer-...ox-1201844193/

It entered season 2 initially with only 13 episodes.

Huge ratings spikes for many shows in Live +7:

http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/dvr...ct-17-23-2016/

Among those getting huge bumps include:

Agents of Shield
How to get away with Murder
The Blacklist
Quantico
The is Us
Timeless
Arrow
The Flash
Supernatural

Streaming and DVRs have seriously killed live viewership.

People like to watch it when they get time and that's often not during the time slot they give shows. Plus DVR + fastforwarding through commercials makes it more enjoyable while also cutting a third of the amount of time it takes to sit around watching the episode.

I can't recall the last time I ever watched a show on cable/satellite during it's actual airing. I believe it would be as far back as 2003-2004 when I was still in high school.

I don't even have cable anymore though. With the likes of Netflix, Amazon, and various other streaming outlets as well as iTunes; there isn't a need in cable or satellite for anything except Sports and even that is dwindling. I watched the last Superbowl via streaming it on the NFL website.

The hard part is the networks convincing the advertisers to pay for Live+7.

IIRC, advertisers seem to be only willing to pay for C+3 ratings.

Those numbers include all platforms including legal streaming sites with advertisements. The networks are getting paid in one form or another.

Can you fast forward over the commercials on streaming these days?

No, they must be viewed. Same with commercials via on demand. FF'd is blocked.

My adblock setup in FireFox automatically blocks the ads on the official streams so I don't even have to mess with fastforwarding.

Why can't you fast forward free on demand programs (at least with Optimum)? Do the ads pay for it I assume?

Can someone link me a nice, easy to look at grid, of the weekly tv ratings? At least for last week. Can't seem to find remotely what I want online. Thanks in advance.

http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/

You mean this site? They publish ratings daily and are pretty much used by everyone in the media.

For more detailed ratings numbers than tvbythenumbers, there is:

http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/article...sked/tvratings

If you want anything even more detailed than showbuzzdaily, you would probably have to be either an insider or a high paying customer of the Nielsen company.

97 of the 100 highest rated shows the past year were live events. A 60 minutes episode and 2 CSI episodes cracked the top 100 ratings.

I don't know, I think EW used to publish like the list of 100 shows across all channels. I liked seeing that. Those aren't exactly what I was looking for, but thanks.

Conviction on ABC will not get a back order (aka cancelled) : http://deadline.com/2016/11/convicti...ir-1201850888/

All 13 produced episodes will air, but not necessarily on Mondays at 10pm.

Freeform cancels Dead of Summer: http://tvline.com/2016/11/08/dead-of...lled-season-2/

Both of their new summer shows didn't make it.

Freeform needs a new scripted drama badly. Pretty Little Liars has 10 episodes left, Switched at Birth has 10 episodes left and is ending.

Only new show from 2016 that got a 2nd season was Shadowhunters.

With On Demand, just out of principle I do a 5-minute skip and then rewind with commercials. For the greedy networks that string together 3+ minutes of commercials, this works great. For the rest, well, at least I don't have to see their stinking commercials.
