JOHN CONFRONTS MOLLY ABOUT HER DISTANT BEHAVIOR, ON "EXTANT," WEDNESDAY, JULY 23
"Wish You Were Here" - Molly has to decide if she is going to reveal her pregnancy to John after he confronts her about her distant behavior. Meanwhile, John and Molly face parents who are suspicious of Ethan when he goes to school for the first time, on EXTANT, Wednesday, July 23 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The latest episode was very dull, unless you think bland dinner parties are exciting. It could get better but all signs point to fairly uneven sci-fi.

This is one of those shows where the main character lies to everyone around them for no real reason except to keep the plot going. This entire story could be moved WAY forward in 10 minutes with 1 single honest conversation.

Even though I've mostly been OK with the show, I have to agree with this comment... especially in the last episode. You have a limited run. Git 'er done.

Struggled to get through this episode. Was boring until the second half. Took me about four tries to get through this episode.

A new time slot failed to boost CBS's Halle Berry drama “Extant,” as it could only tie NBC's rising “Taxi Brooklyn.” The two networks tied atop the demo ratings, though NBC had the most viewers.

This week's episode was bad. The characters make such stupid decisions:
"We're on the run--where should we go so they can't find us? I know, let's go spend a couple of days with my Dad! They'll never think to look for us there!"
and
"My pregnant wife is out there alone looking for our lost son. I really need to go find them. But first I'm going to punch this cop because he called my robot son a machine."

FYI, there is an episode 4 thread. Don't know why Jeff bumped this one to talk about episode 4 ratings. Otherwise, why am I labeling the threads with season and episode number (which some of you requested) if no one is going to utilize it?

No worries man. There is probably a 50/50 split on people preferring a 1 season thread vs individual episode threads. I know not all shows have compelling discussion every single week, so it's really hit or miss with these threads. I know most people here like to only post in threads that have activity.

The benefit of having a thread for each episode is keeping the spoiler discussion away for people catching up long after the air date. The problem is that many shows don't generate enough discussion on a regular basis to justify separate threads.

Don't buy that rationale. Not caught up, stay away from the thread. Simple. It's what I do when there is only one thread per series.
