The dogs explained that those with people when they disapeared changed the dogs. They sense things differently than we do. There are packs of dogs now that roam and are not how they used to be.

I'm actually all for character studies as I tend to like those kinds of shows when they're on HBO. That said, the only character I had any kind of interest in after the pilot was Theroux's character. The rest of them, meh.

There was a sign posted in the GR's house about smoking to proclaim their faith or something like that. As far as the dogs, I only remember the line about some dogs going nuts when their owners disappeared.

This was okay. I'll probably tune in for another episode or two to see where things go. It seems like they overloaded on "mysteries" so that they can still keep providing "answers" to keep viewers engaged until the series finale when they provide the big answer as to what occured.

It was...okay. Some parts were intriguing, but knowing Lindeloff is involved has certainly tempered any enthusiasm I may have.

And Amy Brenneman looked terrible.

So in Theroux's flashback thinking about when the loss occurred, he was banging someone. I didn't see if it was his wife or not. Given it seems like it happened in the middle of the day, maybe not?

Anyway I was mostly thinking how painful that would be, to have someone under you suddenly disappear and you go spear-first into the mattress.

I think girl vaporizing would turn steel to putty in like 3 seconds. Would not be any decisions to be made in that area.

If people were disappointed by Lost's ending and ultimate explanation, I would stay far away from this series. This a case where reading the spoilers will save you a lot of time.

Ratings are in. 1.8M viewers for the first airing. 2.1 total for the night.

HBO also looks at On demand, viewings of re-airs and HBO Go. Hard to really judge those overnight numbers. It's a premium channel and they don't have to please advertisers. Also, the show isn't expensive from the looks of it and has no big stars along with it's lead-in True Blood already in decline with viewers.

I liked it a lot and will definitely keep with it.

One important thing to remember is that this show is NOT about answers. Just like the book wasn't. So that's not Lindelof's fault. The rapture itself is not important. It's all about the people left behind -> TITLE!

I said the same thing to my wife. Especially since all the "Behind the scenes" pieces have the Director and others kinda treating the disappearance just as a backdrop to the more important story of the folks left behind dealing with it.

Same here. My wife was really hooked and I didn't think she would like it at all. We'll check it out.

I can't recall the last time I was ever so bored of an HBO pilot. I'll hang in there, but I dunno.

Also, did they not even say WTF "GR" stands for? I probably missed it since I somehow missed the sign about smoking too.
