Yes, how could we forget "Machine Gun" Chloe?

I loved the look on Mark's face when Audrey thanked Jack on the phone. He was like, "Yo - I did some stuff too, bitch!"

Didn't Heller issue a pardon for Jack to include any events that occur on this day?

if navarro would have died in the attack at the decoy house, how would shady hacker guy have gotten his device?

Good episode and they got me for sure on the tossing of Margot out the window. I sure wasn't expecting it but it definitely fits with the current incarnation of Jack Bauer. He was always ruthless but wouldn't have tossed a handcuffed terrorist out the window but now its like having a cup of coffee in the AM - no big deal.

Yup, EPIC. Loved when he tossed out the son, and so much more when he tossed out mom. Yeah, the fact that she was handcuffed could raise some issues, but I really hope they don't go there. I'm fine w/Heller still being alive--cool that he was willing to go through with it and cool that Jack had a plan he didn't tell Heller about. Just excellent all-around. SURE hope they bring back this show.
(Is there ANY chance Tony makes an appearance?)

gonna have to go back and see how many redshirts Jack has punched this season. There was "Jesus Jack!" last week and now this week "make a sound and i will kill you til you die from it" *knockout punch*

The hacker didn't have any involvement with the drone plot. And Navarro wasn't worried about being found out at that point in the day.

no, but he does want the device really badly now. did he suddenly realize it's potential for some other scheme? just seems like he's been plotting this move all along.

I thought it was a total surprise to him when they discovered one of his hackers was writing that override code (the one that 24-Sansa killed).

And he didn't really have control over Navarro until he needed his help getting out of the country. Although I suppose he could have blackmailed him with the fact that he's a mole. I'm sure the hacker has all kinds of electronic evidence.

I was hoping Tony would be the guy running the fingerprint for Jack over the phone, but it was just some random dude.

What's the deal with Tony anyway...did he get sent to prison? I can't remember.

I believe Tony was apprehended in season 7 after he was revealed to be playing both sides and wanted to kill Will Patton's character. He blamed him for killing Michelle and his unborn kid.

Carlos Bernard has been very vague on whether or not he will appear. It's not looking likely with only 3 episodes left, but he posted on his Unverified Twitter feed that he can't comment on Tony's status.

Tony Almeida is probably the only (established) character on '24" that would be an acceptable replacement if Kiefer decided to sit a season out. I think his character is probably the third most interesting one the show has ever produced, right behind Jack and President Palmer.

Re: 24: Live Another Day (S9E09) -- "7:00pm to 8:00pm" -- 6/23/14

I saw a spoiler for next week’s 24 on another forum:
Spoiler:
The inept covert assassin comes back to life, because it’s 24, and he rushes over to the office building and applies some of Jack’s magic bandaids to Margot and Margot Jr and they both are fine. Then Chloe’s robot-voice boyfriend sells them back the override device for $750 using kijiji.co.uk. (She talks him down from $1000) And since it’s not just for drones but any military equipment in the world, she uses it to take control of all of the industrial mixers at all of the forward bases in the U.S. military and makes all of the mashed potatoes very lumpy. This reduces troop morale across the board, paving the way for a terrorist attack. Jack is just about to save the day and use his collection of Magic Bullet blenders to make the potatoes light and fluffy, when the Russian dude with the walrus moustache shows up and starts choking him and whispering “shhh, shhh” in his ear. And he is shocked when Jack ignores his advice and starts screaming “Help! Help! Russian walrus strangling me!!!”. And the marines storm in and shoot the Russian and he’s like “WTF?!? I told you to shush!”.

I don't know why, but I felt sorry for Margot getting thrown out the window...

I would kindly submit President Charles Logan. He's easily my all-time favorite 24 supporting character. In fact, I might even go so far as to say that during his time on the show I enjoyed him more than Jack. I know that's blasphemy, but after the first 4 or 5 seasons, Jack just sort of became robo-spy. Sure he's awesome, but just being awesome doesn't really make a character.

She was unarmed and had her hands secured behind her back. I didn't see the need to throw her out of a window and splatter her brains on the sidewalk.

This is my wife's first season watching "24" and I've been telling her how Jack is sometimes misunderstood and sometimes a scapegoat. He sometimes does bad things, but only when they're necessary and for the right reasons. Occasionally we discuss it and she sees my point. But that move? I had nothing.

I wasn't sorry for her. I was "sorry" for what it said about Jack.

Well said. I wonder if Jack is supposed to have some kind of arc where he ends up being the villain. Then again, he shot the villain dead at the end of Season 1, so maybe not much has changed...

I am enjoying it but they are not taking advantage of using our expectations against us except for the Margo toss. Would have preferred Heller be actually dead or other twists that go against the 24 book

Actually Jack was being a hero. If he had taken her in, it would have lead to a lengthy trial and long prison sentence for life or until her execution (if the UK has one). All of that would take millions of dollars (UK pounds). So Jack was saving the British people having to spend all that tax money on a terrorist.

Jack Bauer: Hero for the taxpayers.

Hey, the fact that she was 100% going to kill Heller gave Jack that motive. He had seen what she was willing to do to her daughter. You know Jack was Cobra Kai. No mercy.

She fired missiles into a hospital then more missiles at Jack? She had it coming.

Not only that, but when has a trial for a supposed "martyr" for his/her faith not contributed to more extremist support or when has prison stopped an ideological leader from leading? Bitch deserved it. And, as has been pointed out, he has a do-whatever-the-fuck-you-want-today-and-get-off-clean pass from the prez.
