I like that they split the intro into 2 segments of 8 contestants. It lets the audience get to know them better than all of them being thrown in at once... or at least it lets you know the first 8 better... maybe those are CBS's favorites!

You realize CBS is purposely casting these people for maximum drama? They know their views going in with extensive interviewing and pit volatile elements together for ratings. I'm surprised we haven't seen a Black Panther and Ku Klux Klan member put in the house together for ratings.

I'm watching the feeds now and they appear to NOT be in HD! On an HD widescreen monitor, going full screen gives huge black bars on each side around the 16:9 image. On a 4:3 monitor, going full screen at least only has black bars on the bottom and top. It looks like they've just letterboxed the 16:9 image inside a 4:3 box. This kinda sucks actually. They probably don't want to deal with the bandwidth involved in streaming full HD.

EDIT: I was using Chrome on Windows for the above tests. I switched to Internet Explorer and full screen did not give me any black backs on a widescreen monitor. My iPhone also gave me full screen using Safari. I'm still not convinced they're sending a real HD stream though.

EDIT2: Now Chrome works correctly for full screen with widescreen monitor for me. Not sure what the problem was previously.

I'm really confused at what's going on with Caleb. He isn't fitting the Caleb we learned about online.
It could be part of his game (pretty sure you wouldn't go into this game a racist homophobe) but he Frankie seem to get along well and his diary room confession about not liking to do what he did (nominations) kinda threw me for a loop. Good acting I suppose.

I would be my left nut that the producers went to Caleb before the show aired about the things on his twitter (or was it a blog?). I imagine he's going to try very hard to not let that part of himself come out now. However, if he lasts a long time, you'd probably expect it to pop out eventually.

I have not kept up with the goings on in the house (the cast is less than thrilling as a whole), but I went to look over at Joker's and Joey and The Rock guy went from being near the top of the voter rankings to the bottom. That usually indicates they've done plenty to annoy the feeders and something's up.

After watching last night, I can see why they don't like the Rock, but I'm shocked and a bit worried about Joey not being liked-I didn't see anything last night to explain why. She seemed to be the early favorite for someone I could really root for this summer.

Would anyone feel comfortable/safe if they went to a hospital and Nicole was their nurse?

I think only two of them even spelled a word. That has to be a record for this competition. I don't know why they all come up with a word beforehand and then search for those letters. Just grab a ton of letters and then spend the rest of the time coming up with a long word.
