Looks like it runs for 94 minutes on mine. Interesting.
Still waiting on the DVD of Season 3 to be released. Hoping we get season 4 on disc.

Philip Seymour Hoffman was supposed to be in this one. I would imagine as the teacher.

I won't be surprised if this has mixed reviews. Personally, I loved it! I wouldn't want a lot of episodes of this style, but this one was very well done.

Tonight, on a special The Wonder Years...
Well done, but not at all funny or entertaining. The teacher was good (as were all the actors), but would've love to have seen PSH instead, obviously.

I really enjoyed it. Nope, there wasn't much humor at all, but this show has moved away from that at times.
Phil Seymour Hoffman had to have died in February right before they filmed this. He would have been amazing as the teacher.
I noticed the teacher's name was even Mr. Hoffman, I assume it was named after Phil died and couldn't do the role.
Also, nice "Dedicated to Phil Hoffman" to open the closing credits.
Guess we get to find out what happens with Pamela in the finale next week.

I really enjoyed it and I think it shows how universally talented Louis is in regards to writing and directing. I am interested in seeing the reaction to this episode and can see the divide in opinions.

I really don't understand how a show that currently is on air can't get a legitimate release? Especially one that isn't riddled with manufacture defects, which the reviews clearly show they have. I mean yea I get it's about money... but Legit and Wilfred got releases...

From what I can see, it looks like the 3rd season of Wilfred might be going the MOD route too. The MOD thing frustrates the hell out of me.

I usually have to adjust when an episode of Louie goes this route. But once I do, i tend to really enjoy them.

The episodes were fine, they were just a little bloated. I think two regular length episodes would've sufficed for this story, and it would've been a tighter, leaner story for it.

Interesting episode. Definitely not the funniest episode of the series but I like that Louie likes to take chances with his series. The kid who played him was pretty good as were the other kids. Philip Seymour Hoffman would have been great as the teacher if that's who he was set to play I agree, but the guy they got did a great job too. I sort of wished there might have been a bit more with him and his daughter, but I think the message of the episode was well conveyed.

I'd like to see more feature films directed by him after last night's episodes. I know he's directed in the past (aside from just his own series) but I think he's got a lot of talent and wouldn't mind seeing other works from him.

Pretty great episode. Five minutes in I was dreading watching, not wanting to endure all the repressed humiliation and hopelessness of high school.
Everyone in this was great. I liked seeing an unknown (to me anyway) actor playing the teacher instead of Hoffman. This guy had that authenticity that so many of the standout actors in this show have. Hoffman would have been fine, but he would have brought all his movie star baggage into the show, and my emotional reaction would have been lessened in the final scenes.
I was a little confused by Louie's father not wearing a big sombrero, but other than that, everything was good.

I was floored by this. He gets such great performances out of his cast. The story line, while a little cliche, rang pretty much true, and was haunting for me emotionally. Really superb TV!

They had a commercial for the dvd release of season 3 just before they showed the "MA" rating.

Re: Louie (S4E11/S4E12) -- "In the Woods Parts 1 and 2" -- 6/9/14
I kinda went from "blah blah blah, yeah, it's cool to do drugs when you're a kid, yeah, this is the alternate Wonder Years episode" to almost being in tears during the last ten minutes.
The "consequences" part was some of the best stuff he's done. Tightening it would have made it so much better though. It should have been an hour.
The part that's really sticking with me is that the flashbacks are all from Louie's memory, and thusly he couldn't actually see his teacher's reaction after his confession, so he just assumed the worst possible response which was silence and a look that said "I was completely wrong about you."
And to make it sadder, I feel confident that he never saw him again.

I was very disappointed by this.
Almost felt like an after-school special and it really didn't offer anything I haven't seen before. It was pretty paint-by-numbers.
Louie needs to be funny or very strange... or a bit of both. This was neither and failed.
