Excited for the new episodes tonight! I burned through the first three season of the series over the past couple weeks and love it.

Hello friend.
This is Louis C.K. I'm a comedian. You know about me from something or other. Anyway, sorry to bother you. I just wanted to let you know that my series on FX, LOUIE, returns for it's fourth season tonight at 10pm. Tonight being Monday, May 5th. There will be 2 episodes tonight, 10 and 10:30 and there will be 2 episodes every Monday for the next 7 weeks.
I took a year off between last season and this one, mostly so I could have more time to do the show, to make it better. This season is very different from past seasons. The first three episodes are pretty typical of what we've done in the past, Self-contained stories. But the next 6 episodes after that are all connected in one story. Then we have a three part story and a two part story. So lots of… parts stories. Yeah.
Anyway, I just wanted to make you aware that the show is coming back tonight.
If you live in a part of the world that doesn't get the show at the same time then I'm sorry to bother you.
I hope you all have a great Spring and summer. Enjoy the show tonight.
Regards,
Louis CK

Just rewatched the last 4 episodes of Season 3 when they aired on FX over the weekend. It's weird seeing the 3-episode "Late Show" thing now that Dave is retiring for real.
Still waiting on the Season 3 DVD.
I'm going to have to save the entire Season 4 on my DVR now. Who knows when the hell we'll get that on disc.
I love the back-to-back episodes this season. 21 minutes a week is not enough of this great show.

This show is so fucking good!!! I can see why it would turn some people off, but this is definitely the best thing Louis CK has ever done (the TV show as a whole I mean).

Both episodes were great, so glad to have this amazing show back.
I love the way Louis CK handles the surreal elements very matter-of-factly, like the trashmen um... trashing his bedroom.
The only false note to me was the poker scene. There wasn't a single moment that didn't feel awkward and contrived, each comedian practically mugging for the camera as they delivered their carefully rehearsed line. Couldn't they have just shot the shit naturally and tried to build a scene around that? (and Jim Norton needs to watch that Michael Caine tape about how to try not to blink when you're on camera).
Took me until halfway through the doctor scene to realize that was CHARLES GRODIN! I never thought he would do anything funny again. He was awesome.
The Seinfeld stuff was gold too, I think Louis stumbled across a great premise for a network sit-com, the ultra-successful comedian and his loser open-mic friend.

So is the thing with the family getting $5K a month from him (which makes absolutely no sense) going to be some season-long thread?

Affording to Louie CK's email, he said the first three episodes are the usual self contained stories, then the remainder of the season is the one long story. Guess we'll see.

I loved everything but the rich people sueing him for 5k a month.
The old guy punched Louie and broke his nose, shouldnt that at least even things up?
Jerk, snobby Seinfeld was one of the funniest things he's ever done. Brilliant.

They didn't sue him. The 5K a month is to keep them from suing him. Cause if they did sue him, he'd have to pay a lot more than 5K a month.
The secret cabal of rich people and the secret pay-off is a flight of fancy, like the garbage men or him ending a date by jumping into a helicopter. (Please forgive the man'splaining)

Both episodes were pretty good. I liked the scene with the doctor at the end and the garbage men scene at the beginning was good too.
I especially enjoyed the second episode though. I agree that Jerry Seinfeld acting like a jerk was pretty damn funny. I'm wondering too if the story with him paying off the rich family will continue on or will be dropped after a while like a lot of the storylines on the show seemingly are. I saw on another forum too that some were speculating if the thing with the model even really happened because she said to him while they were in bed "maybe it's not really happening" and maybe he just made it up to try and get some sympathy from the bartender he wanted to go out with.

I thought everything else was great though, and I wasn't really a huge fan of last season as a whole. The scene with the garbage men had me dying.

Yeah, the masturbating scene really didn't work for me, either. I think partly because it seemed to go on for too long. Either that, or because it didn't work, it just felt like it went on too long.

Strange...
What Louis C.K. didn't want you to know about the season premiere of 'Louie': http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/05/05/lo...on-4-premiere/

I have to admit that I rarely laugh at this show. I find the show amusing/interesting/entertaining, but I don't find it laugh out loud funny.
I love Jim Norton. I listen to him on O&A every day. However. his acting is horrendous, and it totally took me out of that poker scene. He just sounds completely unnatural and forced to me. I wish he could just talk like he does in real life because whatever he tries to do when he acts is terrible.
