Re: Murder in the First (S1E04) -- "Burning Woman" -- 6/30/14

I enjoyed this episode

Glad to see that little bitch Blunt fuck up going to that rave and getting caught. at losing his $10M along with his lawyer dropping out.

The shooting was resolved fairly quickly from last week.

Surprised they went there with English and Mulligan already.

I'm enjoying the show as well. It's not earth shattering but the story is moving along at a good pace.

I think the show is improving each episode. Glad that resolved the shooting and I hope we don't see the kid and the mom again. The English and Mulligan thing was a bit early to go there. I thought the writers would have had them kiss towards the end of the season.

I had to laugh at Steven Webber's character in that rave scene.

Speaking of Steven Weber....it seems way too obvious that he has some sort of involvement in the case.

I really found that stupid.

I enjoy the main plot of the investigation and prosecution, but none of the rest.

I don't have much to say about this episode but I was at Steven Weber groveling to his wife and her reaction.

I didn't like this episode that much and the ending again showed that Blunt is creepy, but I don't think he killed Cindy. The Steven Weber scene with the wife was hilarious and I hated the cop karaoke scene.

I thought until this episode I was sure who the killer was. But I now think they may be being especially clever, and have a feeling of what will happen in the final episode.

Feel free to share your theory. Overall, this episode was boring as hell and each storyline felt like filler. I'm sure there were important details somewhere but I just couldn't get into it at all. This is the first episode where I felt this way.

Yes, that was my favorite scene too. He was such a wimp in that scene.

Also, surprised to hear Taye Diggs sing at the end. I knew he previously worked on Broadway, but never heard him sing before. He sounded pretty decent, but Hildy's reaction was WTF weird.

I'm a little annoyed how they're playing up this weird vibe/sexual tension between Hildy and Terry. It's way too early in their TV characters relationship to us as viewers to do that.

Great episode. The reveal at the end was pretty shocking but of course we know it's not true. I'm starting to think that Blunt's CTO killed Cindy Strauss. It also seems like Steven Weber is being set up as well. I thought from the beginning that he was involved and since I'm usually wrong about these things, I'm going with the CTO.

Guess he doesn't need a lawyer now.

Yeah, you look for the misdirection - I was thinking the same thing.

The show is picking up steam. I do have to say that I like the supporting actors much better than the two main leads. The character of Erich is perfectly cast, and his team (both legal and tech) are also well-cast.

Erich's CEO is a piece of work. Not expecting last night's revelations.

I just got caught up on the last two episodes, the show is improving a bit. I was surprised by the CEO. The only cast members I don't care for is Stephen Weber and the actress that plays his wife.

It's improving because the trial is in full swing. That helps, particularly since Cromwell carries his scenes.

That was a great ending. Not sure how I feel about the direction they're going in the final two episodes but we'll see.

Agree. Good ending.

I spent tonight catching up on the last 3 episodes. I love the direction they took the series for this final stretch run focusing on the trial. James Cromwell as the defense attorney & Currie Graham as the Prosecutor essentially became the main characters over Terry and Hildy.

I admit, I was surprised that Blunt admitted he was actually the killer to Terry and Hildy. I was so sure he was just a Red Herring.

So basically Terry and Hildy have to find a way to nail Blunt on new charges for these last 2 episodes.

I've enjoyed this show, but it's been far from perfect. Some plotting issues and choppy character development have hurt it in a few episodes. Good thing it's only a 10 episode season.

I don't have much to say about this episode. After the good ending last week, I was hoping that they'd come back with a strong episode leading into the finale. Instead, we just got a standard tying up of loose ends and planting the seeds for the finale. I'm guessing that Blunt is going to get what he deserves in the end.
