Police arrested actor Michael Jace early Tuesday morning for murder in connection with the shooting death of his wife in their Los Angeles home.
Officers responded to the 5400 block of Brynhurst Avenue in Hyde Park around 8:30 p.m. Monday after neighbors reported the sound of gunshots.
They were met by Michael Jace, and discovered April Jace, 40, dead inside the house, according to Detective Sal LaBarbera. He said investigators were not looking for any additional suspects, and believe the incident was isolated to the Jace home.
LAPD confirmed Jace, best known for playing an LAPD officer in the TV series "The Shield," was booked for murder around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.
LaBarbera said Jace and his wife have been married for nine years. It was not immediately clear if the couple's children were in the home at the time of the shooting.

I actually had to google him because I couldn't place the name even though I loved the series and have watched it all the way through 3 or 4 times. He was my least favorite character on the show. His story lines always dragged the show down.

Man, that's a sad turn of events if Jace is indeed guilty. Sounds like he is. Agree with Bootsy, this isn't something you joke about. A family is now torn apart. Always thought Jace was a decent supporting actor during his career. Last thing I remembered him on was Southland. He had a small part playing Regina King's ex.

3:51 AM PT -- Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Jace's 2 kids witnessed him allegedly shooting and killing their mom. The kids -- both under 10 -- were extremely upset and taken to the police station. We're told cops are angry it took Children's Services 4 hours to get to the station and take the kids to the home of a family member where they could be comforted.

Ugh, I feel bad for Jace's kids. They're going to be traumatized the rest of their lives having witnessed their Mom's murder.
I hope they have a good support system (Aunts and Uncles, Grandparents) who can take care of them until they grow up.

Wow, that's messed up.
He had a small part on Shield, but his character, IIRC, was relatively honorable, compared to the other cops on the show.

He was one of the better character actors around television. I assume drugs will be involved in some form as the eventual cause.

Jason "Jace" Alexander, director of the TV series "Law & Order," was arrested on child pornography charges Wednesday, accused of possessing and disseminating videos of young girls engaging in sex acts.
Alexander, 50, of Dobbs Ferry, New York, was accused of using an Internet torrent service to send a video in June that showed a 12- or 13-year-old girl stripping and masturbating, according to court documents obtained by the New York Post. He also had a video file of a 6- to 8-year-old girl performing a sexual act on herself, investigators said.
Alexander was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, according to Variety. He faces a maximum of seven years in state prison if convicted. He posted $10,000 bail, and is due in Dobbs Ferry Court on Nov. 19.
Investigators were led to Alexander after downloading child pornography files from an IP address located in Westchester County. Further investigation revealed that the IP address came from Alexander's home, Variety reports.
Alexander worked on 32 episodes of the original "Law & Order." He also directed episodes of "Rescue Me" and is listed as a co-executive producer on NBC's "Blacklist," according to Entertainment Weekly.
