Yep, that was absolutely my thought. Especially since she hasn't been called that on the show in a LONG time.

Re: Game of Thrones -- "Mockingbird" -- 5/18/14

I think "your sister" is more impactful than "Cat". It's like saying "I banged your mom!" vs. "I banged Mary!". It's more explicit, and more of a direct fuck-you in my mind.

This coming from a non-book reader.

Also, did anyone else think Tyrion was going to choose The Hound as his champion? I thought it was obvious that was going to be the case. Especially after they had The Hound tell the story again about his brother. Maybe he wants to avoid his brother altogether, but I would think there's a good chance he'd relish the opportunity to kill him. I saw Tyrion recognizing that, and knowing The Mountain would give him a good chance at winning too.

I disagree with most and will say "yes". I started reading the books, but stopped once I realized each 'shock' was much more fun without knowing about it beforehand. The show will eventually end, then I can go read the books, pick up all the stuff that wasn't covered on the show and be able to enjoy the series on a new level.

I think it would have been a good idea, but the trouble would be, how do you find him?

Through 7 episodes, I feel that this season, from top to bottom, has been the best. while in previous years it always felt like we were just moving chess pieces around to the season's 'climax' in episode 9. But this season, there has been so many awesome 'climatic' moments that its just been great.

Between Oberyn recounting to Tywin what happened to his sister and Cersei choosing The Mountain for her champion, I thought it was pretty clear who was going to be Tyrion's champion.

Next Sunday (May 25th) won't have an episode broadcast because of Memorial Day weekend, but the next new episode on June 1st (episode #8) has the title "The Mountain and the Viper" so that'll be the trial by combat episode.

When it was revealed that The Mountain was going to fight, I knew Oberyn Martell would be the one to be Tyrion's champion. About every episode he was in he would talk about getting justice for his sister that was raped and killed by The Mountain.

I knew it was the Lannisters who were ultimately responsible for his sister's death but forgot it was The Mountain who did it! That does make it seem fairly obvious now.

Re: Game of Thrones -- "Mockingbird" -- 5/18/14

i guess they didn't want male watchers to fear getting the gay on them with the whole 8th of a millisecond of Daario man ass, so they immediately smash cut to 3 minutes of titties in the tub.

i didn't get the in world reason for the mountain to be hacking up prisoners. it isn't like they would even be a challenge.

i don't recall if bronn is totally gone in the books, but i hope there is a way to keep him around on the show. maybe they will have him keep training with jaime
Spoiler:
since they didn't go the Ilyn Payne book direction

it is going to be a long two weeks.

Plus, there's a reason he's not anywhere near King's Landing currently. He was Kingsgaurd and abandoned not only his post, but his king. Both are treasonable acts, thereby making him an outlaw. Even if you were to get him back to, he'd be put on trial, himself.

This one seemed like it had two potential "episode ending then cut to credits" scenes in it. Prince Oberyn dramatically picking up the torch and telling Tyrion that he will be his champion would've been a great episode ending scene (so much so, that only the surprise death of a recurring character could top it).

I think everyone knows the Hound hates his brother, though most don't know the details of why. Don't forget the tourney in Season 1 when they almost killed each other in front of King's Landing.

But if Tyrion tried to pick the Hound, he'd get the same response as when he tried to pick Jaime in Season 1 -- "He's not here; pick someone else or forfeit."

Book spoiler:

Spoiler:
I feel sorry for everyone who is digging Red Viper. I will admit, the series is making him seem a lot cooler than the books . How many actors have portrayed the Mountain so far?

Yeah, if the Hound did return and go on trial, he'll just cut the proceeds short and say "I want trial by combat." And if they then picked the Mountain to fight him, he might actually smile for once, because it'll be exactly who he'd want to fight.

Dr. DVD, even without clicking your spoiler button, I feel like everything you wrote around it pretty much gives it away.

I agree completely. I am finally in "unmapped territory" and being surprised. As good as the Red Wedding episode was I wish I hadn't read that far in the books. I'll start up again after the series is over and GRM (or more probably Sanderson) finishes the books.

I think just to make him more menacing, and to introduce the new actor.

I love Sanderson's work. That said, I hope GRRM can finish the series... but if he's not able to, Sanderson is a great choice.
