SNL -- 05/10/14 -- H: Charlize Theron -- MG: The Black Keys

She hasn't hosted in 14 years (season 26)... here's her first monologue (back in 2000)!

I couldn't help but notice that this episode was especially unfunny and boring. And then I got to thinking...are there even any male cast members any more? I mean other than that really, really unfunny guy on WU? And yes, that is exactly what I'm saying.

There's the AT&T guy, the two black dudes, and like 5 other white guys that are almost the same as AT&T guy.

I didn't so much as crack a smile the entire episode. the cold open, the host monologue, every sketch weekend update, every digital short. All completly unfunny.

The only part of the show that was worth watching was Nasim Pedrad in a bathing suit.

Holy crap, that was awful. Theron was really wooden.

Reading this makes me glad I skipped this one

Looking forward to Samberg next week though.

Nothing was even remotely funny or even close to clever.

Agree on this being the weakest episode of the season.

The Mom game show was probably the strongest thing on the show. I actually chuckled a few times but aren't these game show parodies beaten to death at this point?

I did enjoy watching Charlize Theron stroke Aidy Bryant's breast.

The bikini beach parthy exploding whale skit has to be one of the weirdest things SNL has ever done. Was it supposed to be funny? Surreal? I don't think they even knew where that was going.

Similarly the lesbian cat adoption sketch was almost sad/funny. Charlize seemed to channeling her 'Monster' character.

Kate McKinnon continues to prove herself the next big star. She can do ANYTHING and make it funny.

I hope he brings some digital shorts with him. I didn't think he was that memorable of a cast member aside from the shorts.

I can usually find something decent about most most snl eps even when most are hating them. But I must admit the last 5 or 6 eps had me bailing out early. I couldn't even finish them.

I havent seen this ep yet but it sure sounds like the trend of "worse than usual" eps is steady....

I fucking hate that Girlfriends sketch. Also, why is the gigantic chick always in everything?

Kenan Thompson is pretty big and is in a lot of sketches and yet no one complains about his size.

She's not gigantic? Anyways, she's not funny either. I think Thompson actually has talent.

Remember that guy Chris Farley? He was funny...and gigantic.

The Nicolas Cage impression and the Wolverine Both Sides sketches.

I liked the cat sketch and the tourist sketch since it was strange lol.

I bet Theron is a major bitch in real life. Maybe not Katherine Heigl but close to the character she played in Young Adult lol.

I'm probably in the minority, but I can't stand Vanessa Bayer. I hate the way she over-emotes and yells most of her lines. Her Clinton impression was shitty.

Really bad. I mean, really bad. This show really needs a reboot from top to bottom.

At first, I thought you were talking about this person:

Yeah, that was bad all around. Even Black Keys, who I normally like, kinda sounded awful. This looks to be their worst album yet.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that this was maybe the worst episode in SNL history. I didn't crack a smile let alone chuckle and I tend to give this show a break.

What was up with Barbara Walters eyes all bugged out during Weekend Update?

It was mediocre but not as bad as those Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber shows.

You either are exaggerating or you've only seen five episodes of SNL in your life. I'm not even sure this was the worst episode this season.

It amazes me that a show with 0 competition and a guranteed audience of millions every week plays it so safe and genuinely funny sketches are few and far btwn.

There wasn't a single sketch that was moderately funny. Worst episode ever, IMO.

This was weird, Theron can be very funny with the right material, seemed like a waste.

I bailed after the girlfriends sketch. Aida Bryant is not funny at all... Looks like I didnt miss anything.
