This show has really rebounded nicely in the past few episodes.

Ward has a "troubled past?" I see a sympathy card getting played.

I'm worried about them trying too hard to make Ward interesting and sympathetic.

So, I'm just checking in because I gave up on the series way back when they were in Mexico at the Mayan temple. There was just too much else on and it didn't seem worth it. As a big lover of the Marvel Universe movies should I get back into it? Did it get noticeably better?

Several people have been asking the same for about a month or so. You can check back on past threads but it's pretty unanimous that the show is markedly better. People that gave up have missed out. You have a lot of episodes to watch.

Yeah, I'm starting night shift. I'll check 'em out online. Thanks Tom!

/\ It is pretty rough for a while, and from the sounds of it you dumped it around the 2nd or 3rd episode, but it has become a lot more fun.

It still won't revolutionize TV, but it is good, nonetheless.

I feel like it started to pick up again around episode 10 and has been firing on all cylinders since Bill Paxton started showing up.

The thing is I am incapable of missing a show so I can't skip. All or nothing :) I'll give 'em a try next week.

So it wasn't just me, huh? I stopped watching the episode they kidnapped Coulson. I think they took a break at that point and I just lost interest. I want to get back into it, but I just haven't seen anything interesting enough to pull me in.

In typical Whedon fashion, the show got off to a very rocky start, but once the show started tying into the MCU and stuff actually started HAPPENING, it's improved significantly.

Would this show have worked better with a smaller episode order? Like 13 episodes or so scheduled between the release of Thor and Cap? Seems cutting out all the chaff would do this show a good service. Also, although cute as hell, the "computers are magic" lady is irritating.

It's worth nothing that at a certain point in the storyline the show will spoil a big reveal from the recent Captain America movie. So, if you haven't seen that and plan to without spoilers then you'll have to stop watching AoS at some point late in season one.

I saw the new Cap movie a couple of weeks ago so I can guess at the big reveal. It is cool to know that the show follows the movies. Considering what the show is about (and the name of it) I was wondering how that would go.

Yep, since about episode 10ish they went up in quality by a large leap. Now its a "must watch" show instead of a "recorded it, will catch up to it eventually" show for me.

i don't know, completely spoiling a major motion picture that had been released less that a week prior seems sorta revolutionary to me.

The show would have worked better if it had started later and not taken so many breaks, especially when it came back for one episode. They had to know from day one that they would be tying into the Captain America movie like this, so scheduling it better would have helped a lot.

Thats been bugging me too getting caught up. While on one hand its interesting to see 2 different mediums tying into each other on this kind of a scale. But on the other, as you said, if you havent seen the movie its plots are running off of, then A) you're getting the movie spoiled somewhat and B) if you dont watch the flick youre left kinda in the dark. Pretty much how the actual comics they are based off of work these days. Keep up or get out.

Skye: How large?

Given the old tech they're using in this episode, it's appropriate...

Given the circumstances, I'm actually impressed at the way the show handled it without relying too much on the movie.
