On Saturday they are starting a season marathon leading to the final episode of the season.

Gosh I hope the final shot in the season is not a reveal that Beth is on the menu.

I'm not sure I buy the cannibal theory. It just seems so unrealistic this early in the outbreak. There are countless houses that ppl could source for food, and wildlife that can still be killed. Plus I'm sure ppl hoarded canned goods like crazy once things started going to hell. Ppl would only turn to cannibalism as a last resort of survival.

The writers already surprised most ppl with the Lizzy story. I'm banking that they have cooked up (no pun intended) a finale that no one saw coming.

^ Interesting. I would hate to think that we might be losing both Beth and Maggie. If so, it's been a terrible year for that family. If they wanted to be complete assholes they could have Maggie get killed after discovering the food she's eating is Beth. Of course there is the possibility that when Maggie told Glenn he wouldn't need the photo anymore it meant that he's a goner.

Re: The Walking Dead -- "Us" -- 3/23/14

I don't think they'll kill Maggie yet, despite the photograph thing. I think keeping a couple like Glenn and Maggie a bit longer is good for the show; Beth seems expendable, despite the expanded role this season, but I hope it wasn't as simple as her getting picked up by someone at Terminus. As much as I want to see the group back together, it would be certainly convenient if everyone ends up in the same place on the season finale.

I have not read the comics or have read any future spoilers, but here are my untouchables for this show (just my opinion):

-Rick
-Darryl
-Glenn
-Maggie
-Carol

Even though they have killed off alot of characters throughout the first 4 seasons, you still need some core characters from early seasons because viewers have invested alot in them.

Then again, the great thing about this show is I could totally be wrong!

Which is why one of them will be gone after this season.

If George R.R. Martin were writing this show, most of the vested characters would already be dead.

Ok, I don't follow the comics. It was still a WTH surprise for a lot of viewers.

Thank Christ they've finally arrived at Terminus. I won't harp on what an aimless and wasted season this has been, but they've finally made it... somewhere. I like where everyone is at right now, Daryl with the gang and the others in Terminus, with Rick and co. close behind. I'm excited for the finale, but of course this should have been episode 3 or 4 this season, not the penultimate episode.

The comics aren't a perfect road map for the direction the TV series will take.

There are characters who died on the show who are still alive in the comics, there are characters who died in the comics who lived past their 'expiration dates' on the show. And characters who died in both under different circumstances.

The TV series follows the general arc of the comics, ie. Rick vs Shane, Hershel's farm, the Prison, the Governor, but changes the details.

I thought Rick was ahead of Glenn's group? Didn't that group see the candy wrapper on the tracks?

That was obviously Bub in the tunnel, right down to the collar around his neck. I immediately yelled it at wife. Haha. They already had the Dawn airport zombie, so seeing Bub isn't to surprising.

One thing about Walking Dead finales is that I hate the inevitable feeling someone will die. It looks like there will be at least two conflicts: Joe's group fighting Rick et al, with Daryl going" huh?". And the this Terminus group vs everyone. Should be good.

I think it was Joe's group that crossed the wrapper (when Daryl claimed the strawberry plant.)

The painting in the house Michonne turned around:

Also ... not wearing the same sweater as Beth.

Notice how weird Tasha Var's skin, all loose and lumpy? She probably ate Beth and is now wearing her skin.

If they wind up killing off both those characters, that whole season at the farm would be pointless, as there would be no surviving characters. You've got to keep at least ONE person from the farm, ONE person from Woodbury, etc. - otherwise this show becomes an exercise in futility.

C'mon, that's like saying the tailies on Lost were an exercise in futility...

Yeah, I know Bernard lived, but no one cared.

Re: The Walking Dead -- "Us" -- 3/23/14

Another thing I was thinking about today. I had primarily written off those few episodes that were Governor centered, at least with regards to the back half of the season, but then I remembered the cabin the Gov's new group entered where everyone was previously judged and killed with the signs hanging from their bodies. "murderer, rapist, etc."

Now I'm wondering if perhaps the "Maunders" Daryl is with or people at Terminus were responsible for that cabin. Perhaps the terminus group are religious fanatics. That would tie into the church Daryl and Beth went to and the preserved bodies. The food was perfectly saved because they don't eat it.

^I think Joe's group is the one that slaughtered that encampment that Brian and the tank dudes stumbled upon and let live.

If Beth is dinner, I hope we don't get a What Happened to Beth episode next season.

Re: The Walking Dead -- "Us" -- 3/23/14

Did Eugene's mullet have a little less "party in the back" this episode? I could swear he had a more a more prominent mullet last time we saw him.

Rick appeared for roughly 90 seconds this episode. That's 90 seconds (1 scene) in 4 episodes.

Everytime I hear "... save the world" I cringe. Oh, and you might wanna get Eugene to write down what he knows - since the information he has is so crucial to the world and death is at every turn.

Terminus is such a safe place from walkers... because they don't have the ability to ever-so-lightly push the gates open like Glenn did.

Anyone else think that Eugene looks like a chubby young John Larroquette?
