Since it's Christmas, one of the funniest things I have ever watched

So awards make one funny. Got it.
Why do you have such a hardon that someone doesn't find someone funny?

Now Fallon is being blamed for not mentioning Trump in his Rob Reiner tribule like Colbert and Kimmel did. -rolleyes-

People bitch abut the dumbest things.

Glad he did not make it political since not everybody is consumed and entertained by politicians and what they say and do and they have to be brought up in every conversation.

Jimmy Fallon paid tribute to murdered director Rob Reiner on Monday’s (December 15) edition of The Tonight Show, but some viewers were “disappointed” he didn’t address Donald Trump‘s “inhumane” post.

The late-night host addressed the double murder of Rob and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, during Monday’s show, recalling how the When Harry Met Sally director “was a frequent guest on the show” and praising him as one of the “funniest” and “smartest” people he’s ever met.

“Everyone here would line up around his dressing room and say ‘hi’ or tell him something that they loved,” Fallon said, per TheWrap. “What he’s given to the world through his art. From All in the Family to going into directing great movies like Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, A Few Good Men, When Harry Met Sally, Spinal Tap, producing Seinfeld. Everyone felt like they had a personal connection to Rob Reiner and his work.”

However, unlike fellow late-night hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers, Fallon made no mention of the disturbing words President Trump posted on Truth Social on Monday morning. In his post, Trump insulted Rob and claimed there were reports the couple were killed as a result of the director’s “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

I get your usual shtick of not wanting to hear politics, but I think this was something worth noting and which was intentionally left off, I can understand the criticism.

It is refreshing to see someone not use a tragedy to try to further their political agenda.

People have individual tastes. For example, I hate the taste of coffee, even though the vast majority of people love it and cannot live without it. But I am not foolish enough to waste my time standing around outside a Starbucks, shouting at the customers that they are wrong about coffee. I accept that my taste and opinion is an extreme outlier.

Regarding art and artistic endeavors, people also have individual tastes and opinions. I just heard this morning that a poll ranked National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation as the people's choice for favorite Christmas movie. I don't like that movie because I can't stand Chevy Chase. A couple years ago, there was the movie The Power of the Dog that received great critical acclaim. I didn't like it. My taste, my opinions.

But regarding opinions and taste about art, there is also something called a cultural consensus.

There are people who think that Citizen Kane and Casablanca are boring movies. They will tell you that the movies are old and that they suck. Those people are ignoramuses. They are "entitled" to their opinions; just like I am entitled to dislike coffee and Chevy Chase. But because they are ignoramuses, they are also too stupid to not be ashamed of their opinions about two of the greatest movies ever made.

And that's what Citizen Kane and Casablanca are. The cultural consensus has been formed, the verdict is in, and these are great movies. If someone cannot appreciate these movies, there is something wrong with them. And if they had any sense, they would be ashamed of their opinions and never let anyone know about it.

Yes, they are entitled to their individual taste and opinions. (America, hell yeah!) I am also entitled to shit myself and then walk around all day smelling like a backed up toilet, but that's not a good idea.

The cultural consensus is in on Stephen Colbert: He's funny. Simple as that. He's been doing nightly TV for 20 years, making people laugh.

Now, if anyone wants to walk around with shit in their pants insisting that Colbert sucks, they are entitled to do that, but I would recommend just shutting up about it. (That's my opinion.)

Jimmy Fallon would be a better president than the guy we have.

Lol. Slightly amusing like the sad, tired clown that doesn't know when to shut the fuck up, that people give the pity laugh to.
Rather than answer the question of why you care so much that someone on the internet doesn't share your opinion, you weakly attempt to try to "prove" that my opinion is somehow wrong. Guess what, you didn't. Sure some people think he's funny. I didn't say they shouldn't. I just don't think Colbert is funny.
And the only person in this thread that said "Colbert sucks" is you.

Mod Warning: Not sure how many times you need to be told to please stop bringing up politics in non-politics threads, but this is a warning to stop it. And, I'll add that this time if you want to gripe about it, either send a PM or drop it because we're over the post-warning in-thread griping from you, too.

Jimmy Fallon told the same Mamdani joke three times over a run of 5 shows, not a variation of the joke, but the SAME JOKE, without a hint or irony or as much as a knowing wink. It's kinda weird, right?
