I don't watch the late night talk shows much, are any hosts actually decent interviewers beyond the planned gags and the movie promotions?

Craig Ferguson is probably the best hands down at interviewing out of all the major late nighters right now.
I know he's too edgy for mainstream, but Fallon isnt anywhere near as entertaining. |
Re: The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon Discussion Thread
speaking of doing 'history of rap' with Timberlake on friday, will he do one for the tonight show?

I know he's too edgy for mainstream, but Fallon isnt anywhere near as entertaining. I'm trying out Fallon tonight, I enjoy his show in spurts and don't hate him like everybody else on the internet seems to (seriously, he can knock something out of the park and sure enough "Some shitty group of people did it better!") but it doesn't generally sustain for a full hour. His opening is ridiculously sincere, if a little nervous (albeit less so than the original Late Show episodes), the SD broadcast of this however is really, really bad, there was a shot a second ago where Fallon is talking to Higgins across the stage and neither is on screen (don't have an HD box upstairs). |
Re: The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon Discussion Thread
I used to like Ferguson a lot more than I do now. Still like him, but I think I like Fallon and Kimmel better now.

Re: The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon Discussion Thread
I like that the set is kind of dark, this is really just Late Night at an earlier time.

 That was good. Tina Fey is impressively attractive.
Edit: late to the party I guess. IMO she was the hottest girl that walked out. |
Re: The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon Discussion Thread
Fallon got an impressive list of people to show up to "give him 100 bucks for not believing he would host the Tonight Show'

Re: The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon Discussion Thread
So far, Jimmy Fallon show is ten times more fun than Jay Leno's.

West Coasters, the set has a lot more wood than Late Night's.
But the set feels more Tonight Show-ish than Late Night's. More classy and jazzed up. |
Re: The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon Discussion Thread
Jesus, Fallon is in hyperdrive tonight.

sucks about Leno losing his show just when I saw the perfect article in the paper to bring laughs on headlines. |

And so far this is pretty much Late Night at 11:30. also liked that after the intro he went back and essentially did a monologue

I think Conan should have kept his show in NY, NY has a different vibe than LA. I dig this though. U2 playing on a roof top, that's awesome.

Will Smith is a notoriously bad dancer (all things considered) so it's funny that he's the one who did that.
