Re: Looking (HBO) - Series Thread
So true. There are dozens of shows that don't interest me such as procedurals. I don't, though, feel the need to shout it out in particular threads. The need to express I WONT WATCH THIS! really shows the poster has issues with the subject matter.

I'm on the fence really. I have it recorded, not sure it will make it to my weekly watching list. The only relationship dramas I'm currently watching is Girls (oddly enough, the only characters I like are the guys on it) and Episodes. Not sure I wanna add a third.

I watched it and found it pretty dull. I didn't find any of the characters interesting and shut it off. I was looking forward tot his because I am am so sick of crime shows, but this unfortunately wasn't memorable. I'd rather watch Queer As Folk re-runs.

I'm digging this show. That was a pretty sweet video game launch party -- liked how Patrick was hitting on his new boss while they were literally straddling torpedoes.
Oh, and Scott Bakula finally shows up

Was anyone besides me watching this?
Not a lot to comment on, but season 1 wrapped up last night. Fairly predictable ending, but I did like the performances from the season as a whole and was consistently entertained throughout.
Earlier, it was renewed for another season, so we'll see where it goes from here.

I caught the pilot on demand a while back. It was alright, but I got sidetracked with catching up on a bunch of other shows. Now that this first season is wrapped, I'll probably go back and watch the rest.

Patrick is on the verge of a new relationship that could complicate life at work and home, even as he tries to salvage a friendship from an old one. Agustín, still floundering from his own breakup, leaves old aspirations behind while making a new connection. Dom continues to pursue his restaurant dreams, but encounters obstacles at every turn. From collaborators Michael Lannan and Andrew Haigh ("Weekend"), the comedy-drama series LOOKING returns for its ten-episode second season SUNDAY, JAN. 11 (10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO. The show takes a frank look at the experiences of three close friends living in San Francisco as they explore the options available to a new generation of gay men seeking fulfillment in love and life.

Season 2 wrapped up Sunday night and overall, I thought it was pretty good. Thought it improved on last season by branching out a bit and allowing the characters to flourish. I feel happy for Dom and am glad he made right by his ex. Augustine is much better off and found someone important in his life. While Patrick continues to bounce back and forth between Ritchie and Kevin.
HBO has not yet renewed this for a season 3, but I understand the creative team is cautiously optimistic about their chances. This show is not a ratings hit for HBO, but sounds like they do want to stand by it and support it as much as they realistically can.

I've been watching since season 1, and like the arcs that Augustine and Dom had. Patrick makes me want to smack him so much. He wants to believe he's an adult, but he's so whiny and indecisive it makes me want to puke. Love the show. It makes me care about the characters even if I do want to smack them. My favorite new character though is Malik.

This was canned but will be getting a series finale "special"/episode to wrap it up.

I've only seen a few of the episodes. Only because I'm overloaded with TV shows at the moment. From what I saw, I thought it was a decent series. The only person I didn't like was the one reoccurring female character. The "hag". I don't know if it was the actress or the character, but I found her to be really annoying. I also want to say, it was nice to see a show about gay men that wasn't so over the top with stereotypes. Like the gay couple on "Modern Family". Or even the recent gay character on "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt". I couldn't get past two episodes of the U.S. version of "Queer as Folk". Thought it was a terrible show.
