I gotta go with Gizmo on this one. I was looking forward to the Flash, but now there's no chance I'll miss it. Cavanaugh may not have had a hit since Ed, but he was perfect in Ed. Having him as a supporting actor means this show won't be entirely reliant on the main actor in the same way Arrow leans to Felicity for great scenes.

Yes, I just compared Cavanaugh to Felicity. I promise not to do that again.

Fair enough. Obviously shows need good supporting casts for it to work. David Ramsey and Emily Bett Rickards are very import supporting players for Stephen Amell. My statement was more on why he would be drawn to watch the spinoff of Arrow, which sounds like he doesn't watch/doesn't watch anymore. The whole plot about Barry was set up in Arrow after all. And there was no need for him to take a shot at me because I watch a lot more TV than him. I make the time to watch stuff I like or am interested in.

It's always a possibility that the Flash series steals Felicity from the Arrow cast. If Laurel wasn't such an unpopular character at this point, I think Felicity would have been moved over already to Flash.

Have you seen the comments about Ollie-Felicity? Pretty much every female Arrow fan wants Felicity to become Ollie's love interest. No way she bolts. I can see that happening in another season or two.

But only because the "romance" between Laurel and Ollie was terrible in the first place. I don't think they'll move Felicity but I'm sure they considered it.

On another non Felicity note, John Wesley Shipp the star of the criminally underrated and forgotten 90's Flash series(and yes Dawson's Dad on Dawson's Creek) has joined the pilot. His role is unknown but if it gets picked up to series is expected to be recurring. Since Geoff John's is writing this, I bet he's going to play Jay Garrick.

I actually think he might play Max Mercury, another older speedster that mentors new Speed Force users. I imagine they'll save Garrick for later in the series.

That's pretty cool. I agree that the 90s The Flash series is pretty underrated. I bought the complete series set on DVD a while back and despite it's cheese factor it's not that bad actually.

I wanted to check it out as well. I only caught a few episodes of it. Does it have an actual ending to the series? I hate it when they just stop.

I watched it a year or so ago via netflix and enjoyed it. had a good balance of seriousness and comic book "sillyness" for lack of a better term

I can't see them ever moving Felicity. She is the driving love interest third wheel that is important to broadening Arrow appeal.

Found the original Flash Season 1 on dvd at wal-mart for under $10. Only watched 8 or so episodes so far.

I think he'll play Barry's dad, (unjustly) in prison for the murder of his wife. It was Geoff John's addition to Barry's backstory, and Shipp and Grunnineiensie do resemble each other somewhat.

Like mentioned already the series was cancelled but the final episode was self contained enough that it's not fully disappointing. Not like some shows that ended on a cliffhanger or something. It does kind of leave you wondering where the show would have gone next though but overall I'd say with it being available pretty cheap (I got mine for like $10ish at Walmart) it's worth a watch.
