Re: Family Guy -- "Quagmire's Baby" -- 11/08/09

I saw this at lunch and this was the best episode in a long time. The Flintstones gag was one of the funniest they have ever done (though I still haven't seen most of the episodes before it was cancelled).

Even though it was a bit predictable, the Palestinian alarm clock gag was probably the best joke of the night for me.

I sort of thought Quagmire would have kept the baby. I also loved Bitch Stewie.

That is what it looked like today. I also think they crossed the line with the Washington sniper remark.

I don't think I laughed once. And the sheer amount of cutaway gags was too much; it seemed like every other minute they threw to one. And none of them were that funny.

Quagmire going off on Brian in the restaurant and Stewing waking up, seeing Jerome, and asking if they were being robbed were the parts I laughed.

I liked it when Lois was making the Big Dick jokes and also when she was choking and Jerome came to the rescue.

It did seem like the Cutaways were stretched for time or something.

The only part of the episode I laughed at:

And what really bothers me is you pretend that you're this deep guy who loves women for their souls when all you do is date bimbos, and yeah I date women for their bodies but at least I'm honest about it. I don't buy them a copy of Catcher in the Rye and lecture them with some 7th grade interpretation about how Holden Caulfield is some profound intellectual. He wasn't! He was a spoiled brat and that's why you like him so much. He's you! God, you're pretentious. And you delude yourself by saying you're some great writer even though you're terrible. You know, I should have known Cheryl Tiegs didn't write me that note. She would've known there was no "a" in the word definite. And you know what I hate most about you is your textbook liberal agenda on how we should "legalize pot man", how big business is crushing the underclass and homelessness is the biggest tragedy in America, well what have you done to help? I worked down at the soup kitchen Brian, and I've never seen you down there! You want to help, GRAB A LADLE! And by the way, driving a Prius doesn't make you Jesus Christ. Oh wait, you don't believe in Jesus Christ or any religion for that matter because "religion is for idiots!" Well, who the hell are you to talk down to anyone? You failed college twice, which isn't nearly as bad as your failure as a father. How is that son of yours you never see? But you know what, I could forgive all of that, ALL OF IT...if you weren't such a bore! That's the worst of it, Brian. You're just a big sad alcoholic bore! Thanks for the fucking steak.

Re: Family Guy -- "Jerome Is The New Black" -- 11/22/09

I thought it was a good episode.

I liked hearing the jive talkin' from Airplane:
"See a broad, to get that booty, yak 'em. Leg 'er down 'n' smack 'em yak 'em."

And the cutaway gag on those old York Peppermint Patty mountaintop commercials was great!
