It mimics the ending of Rocky III, with Cleveland playing the role of Apollo and Quagmire playing the role of Rocky.

I couldn't remember it either, thanks!

Did anyone else catch the quick Transformers scene transition?

The Petercopter and the blimp (I forget what Peter called it) were great. Especially Joe's comment to Peter: "How can you afford these things?"

spainlinx0 06-13-05 09:55 AM

HindenPeter?

Kaffe_02 06-13-05 09:59 AM

Great episode.

Petercopter was s funny and Brian slapping lois on the ass had me rolling

Big Boy Laroux 06-13-05 10:02 AM

god, this show is funny. loved the petercopter and the hindenpeter, and especially joe's line mentioned above, "How can you afford these things?"

and i actually like the "drag on" jokes. for some reason, they really make me laugh, even though they really go on ridiculously long. The "rock lobster" song seemed to go on forever, as well as the petercopter scene. but they both had me rolling.

From zap2it.com:

At 9 p.m., NBC's "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" repeat, 6.4/11, outdrew the Spurs-Detroit Pistons game, 6.2/11, on ABC. CBS dropped to third with a repeat of the movie "Raising Waylon." "Family Guy," 5.0/8, and "American Dad," 4.3/7, weren't far behind for FOX. "Steve Harvey's Big Time" averaged 1.4/2 for The WB.

Thanks. I couldn't remember which cartoon show that was from. I knew it was either Transformers, GI Joe, Thundercats, or He-man.

I was already laughing my ass off at Peter & Brian with the masks, then Cleveland pulls out that can of Spinach and I just lost it. "That's all I can stands, I can't stands no more." Also loved Brian swatting Lois on the ass.

Yeah, the music that played was the "More than meets the eye..." part of the theme. It took me a minute to figure out what it was from.

Well maybe I should have elaborated. I got the joke about Peter not being the most subtle person when giving bad news, that was funny but the example seemed too mean-spirited to make me laugh.

That was the only thing wrong with this episode. The gag wasn't that funny and then just went on for WAY too long. It needed more funny and less just outright cruel - It fell just short of calling the guy a f-a-g and telling him that he deserved to die of "full-blown AIDS". Not cool.

That was my favorite line of the night. I love Joe.

So is Loretta gone for good then? When are Bonnie and Joe gonna have that baby (and what happened to Joe's teenage son that Meg had a crush on)? I liked the joke Peter had a few weeks ago ("I mean come on Bonnie, you've been pregnant for like THREE YEARS!"), but is she always just going to be pregnant? Just interested to know since they are progressing the stories of other characters like Cleveland and Loretta.

DJLinus 06-13-05 12:03 PM

I never knew that Cleveland's last name is Brown. Is this the first time that's been revealed?

But didn't Peter's song say the guy got AIDS from sharing a needle?

Ditto here, plus it just seemed like a rip off of Team America's "Everyone has AIDS!" song.

no it wasn't.

that song was about how everyone has aids.

the family guy song was about how just one guy had aids.

totally different.

I wouldn't be surprised if everything's back to normal the next episode. Family Guy's never been real concerned with developing and maintaining characters and their relationships, they pretty much just do or act in whatever way the next gag requires.

yeah, like the one episode where they survived the nuclear meltdown and quagmire and cleveland were fused into "Quagland" (or "Clevemire"). the next episode, they were two distinct people again.

He said maybe he got it from sharing a needle, or having unprotected sex.

Oh Johnny Tremain, don't be ashamed of your deformed hand, you've still had some exciting adventures!
