What, no mention of the time Peter helped save Luke Skywalker's life?!

SonOfAStu 05-01-06 07:03 AM

Did ANYONE think the moby dick flashback was funny? I have a feeling the answer is going to be "no".

That bit was unfunny and too long as well, but I thought it was the only "manatee-ish bit" in the entire show. Everything else was funny.

dstrauss 05-01-06 08:17 AM

As juvenile as the joke was, I did crack up at the Clue "in the bedroom with a lead pipe" line.

It's funny, because I was thinking the manatee thing during that as well. Moby Dick + houseguest + raisin bran.

But I thought the idea of a "Dig 'Em scandal" was great. Or is it 'Dig Them'? ;)

magiccmom 05-01-06 10:15 AM

The Elizabeth Smart bit crossed the line IMO. Hit a new level of low, even for them.

CPA-ESQ. 05-01-06 10:25 AM

Come on the Popeye thing was great

My thoughts exactly. Yet ANOTHER week where American Dad has beat the crap out of Family Guy.

i hate to agree, but i might have to.. i thought it was a good line, but probably a little too cutting edge

Peter going on about the brownie from the gay district got the biggest laugh out of me -- the amount of fudge they pack into it, the two nuts.

Other than that, South Park does make a lot of valid points.

Unfortunately, I am unable to listen to "Pour Some Sugar on Me" in the same way anymore... :(

Cardiff Giant11 05-01-06 03:49 PM

Oddly enough I thought the bit about the key to a VW Sciorocco was funny.
Agreed though, pretty weak episode and the Moby Dick thing was painfully unfunny.

MrX 05-01-06 05:01 PM

Stewie's line about how at least Matthew McConaughey will be on the Oscar telecast now had me rotfl

From now on, whenever I see an unfunny, nonsensical bit on the show, I blame it on the manatees.

(Good thing that unfunny bits like this are the exception, not the rule :) )

I'm glad someone else thought so! I hadn't laughed that hard in a long while.

rehash of the rudolph the red nosed raindeer at the doctor joke from the 2nd season.

mikewendt 05-02-06 01:34 PM

Stewie's airtraffic controler/Matthew McConaughey bit was ok... Moses got me to laugh... The rest just bored the shit out of me.

to be honest, I think I'm kind of over Family Guy...

"I'm singing. I'm singing."

"I have a feeling I'm going to be burying my dog tonight."

spainlinx0 05-02-06 10:06 PM

I feel like they are killing Quagmire with his long drawn out giggitys now. First the song and then this. Yeah guys, we get it. Some funny parts, but a lot of jokes just bombed for me.

This has potential.

A-aron 05-07-06 10:37 AM

wonder if they'll reference Zelda Rubenstein or The Preacher.

THX7966 05-07-06 06:15 PM

The preview looks lame. Tom Arnold jokes? They were stale ten years ago.

magiccmom 05-07-06 09:58 PM

That's how my boy scout counselor shakes hands!

Matthew Chmiel 05-07-06 11:00 PM

Oh man. The riff on the old Tri-Star Pictures opening was great.
