Thought the show looked great in HD. It was definitely a different kind of episode. Barely any cutaway bits.
I loved some of the landscape shots... they really made it a point to emphasize the fact that it is in HD now. |

I really thought Cleveland was going to return when everyone started pulling up to the mansion.

Love the whole late-80s, early-90s movie vibe they had going, with that score and all. It was like Clue meets Death Becomes Her.

I cracked up at the the Stephanie jokes, but I thought overall it was a mediocre episode.

I thought that was a pretty boring hour.

A lot was due to the style they were copying, but this was clearly the best this show has ever looked. As for the episode, I liked it. The stuff with Carl was pretty good, especially his little talk with the bear. Stewie's last line was great. |

Crap, my DVR got some kind of error and didn't record, so I couldn't watch it in HD tonight!
Had to watch it thru my PS3. Still looked decent though. Good episode quality-wise. Brought a little funny too. |

^ Agreed. I didn't care for the premiere either.

Not the music, but the visuals of the opening reminded me of the opening of The Shining.

I liked it. Definitely the best season premiere this year for animation domination. It looked really good, and it was fun to see the characters used in a different way. I just wonder if what happened in this carries over into the regular series, or if this is just a one-off thing?

my friend got a big laugh out of that because his college roommate (in TX of course) was Jewish and well, it was a perfect joke for him
