I think the prison is a zombie magnet because the Gov is herding zombies towards the prison gates. They even said something to that effect in the first episode this season when they went on that supply run and saw somebody hooked up the CD player to the car battery and cut open the fence so they could draw out the zombies.

Maybe the Gov is the one feeding rats to the walkers.

Agreed, when my wife used to watch Grey's Anatomy this used to drive me nuts. Replace genuine on screen emotion with "fake emotive music."

From inside the fence???

Man, these threads are ponderous to go through. How many useless posts did we have on whether Carol or the little girl killed those two people? Too fucking many, that's how many.
Come to think of it, it was you that started that whole useless tangent. Come on man!

It was Darryl & Co that cut the fence and hooked up the CD player. They wanted to draw the walkers out of that area so they could go into the big store.

Its possible the governor has been getting the walkers to focus on certain parts of the fence by going in at night (through the same laced shut fence openings the people use) and feeding them. I don't think it is though because that doesn't get him what he wants. If he was watching the prison all this time he'd have seen Michonne going out on her own and I think she's his white whale at this point.

They do have openings in the fence now so somebody could be slipping through. I think it is the little girl but who knows.

I think he is herding the zombies to weaken their defenses and for intelligence gathering. He can see the fences are weakened and he also knows where the guns are stored outside after Carl and Ricks shoot them up.

The one section that Rick slipped thru to get to Carol a couple episodes back looked like it was just a dog leash used to lash it. I can see if the Gov were to get thru that part of the fence to draw them in.

Why didn't they lock the sick people in their cell sooner? You never know if/when they're going to die and turn.

It was obvious more attention at the fence was needed, but they let the walkers swarm. They still didn't think about putting some spikes outside the fence?

They continue to make the characters stupid to create situations to put them in.

Why is Rick still wearing cowboy boots? I'm assuming Rick is comfortable in them as he's worn them for a long time - but I still can't believe you could run as fast with them as you would with running shoes. I'm sure the boots wouldn't provide as much traction either. I don't know about anyone else, but in a zombie apocalypse, I'm going to make sure I have the best mobility possible. Of course I know little about cowboy boots - so I could be wrong.

You need cowboy boots to stomp a zombie.

I think it cold go back to the scene where Daryl & co. were staring at the radio listening to the recording. I am presuming that it was some type of rescue/retreat type area ahead that had a massive outbreak. I'm hoping this scene will be covered in next weeks episode since it was not mentioned this week.

Not sure why the massive swarm of walkers would head in one direction, but hopefully we will get answers to that.

I assume they do at night when people are sleeping, but during the day it gives Herschel and the Doc access to treat the sickly?

Did we get an example of it in season two? I think one zombie saw a helicopter and started following it, and others started following it. Eventually it was just a big heard and more and more zombies started joint because that's what everyone else is doing.

And with this episode I officially don't care if any of these characters live. Their actions are so repeatedly stupid that they all deserve to die (and the writers deserve to never work again). Even Daryl, who is growing his hair into his fucking eyes. Seriously? In a world where your peripheral vision means the difference between life and death, you let your bangs grow over your eyes? Every single character should have a Carol cut. I'm now to the point where I just watch in a little window while I surf Reddit, and when a zombie attack starts, then I'll full screen it. Otherwise my eyes hurt too much from all the rolling.

I'm surprised no one else mentioned it, but does anyone else think Maggie is turning into Lara Croft, what with the plate-mail vest and thigh pistols? Now they just need to get her into shorts and a half-shirt.

At this point in time I only feel that way about Rick and Carl. It isn't the stupid actions that get me, it is the wildly inconsistent actions.

There's a lot of zombie stompin' going on and I think Rick is the only one wearing cowboy boots.

Unless someone's watching each and every cell constantly throughout the day, it would be dumb to leave them opened. They can drop dead at any time... which is what actually happened anyway during the day. They can unlock the cell when visiting the sick - an small extra step that makes a world of difference.

I think they're setting her up to be some kind of Messiah. She gets bit and doesn't turn. They could go some different directions if that ends up being the case.

Yep, a world of difference to those that have to be in cell to not feel worthless or stripped of their humanity if kept locked up. They're already locked away in that side of the prison. Herschel is doing his best to keep up everyone's hope. Leaving them locked in their cells strips any hope away. Seems that Glen, Sasha and Caleb were already making rounds throughout to keep an eye on things along with Herschel.

They had a week or more to do something to defend the prison when the fence would fall. Why not surround the perimeter with some explosives or dig a large hole in the ground so when they break down the fence, they all fall in and then kill them all like shooting fish in a barrel?

Not a good episode. Way too many coincidences going on at the same time, which is poor storytelling. And frankly, I'm getting tired of spending 90% of each episode this season watching people cough.

Can zombies be electrocuted? If so, just hook up a car battery to the fence and let 'em fry.
