Yeah, Sheldon is a total asshole, no one would put up with his shit in real life, much less stay friends with him for this many years. He was funny at the start of the show, but now he rapidly becoming insufferable, showing no growth at all. As for Bernedette, while Howard might legitimately love her and just see too much of her sometimes and have to have some time to himself, but talking about her that way behind her back was probably not a great way for her to find out.

Yep. QFT.

Sheldon's shown a lot of growth (for him), and I thought we've seen glimpses of it this season with him and Penny and him saying how his feelings get hurt. It just sucks to see him revert back occasionally.

Am I the only one who didn't feel the least bit sorry for him in that scene? Everything out of Sheldon's mouth is hurtful to others, whether it's knocking Leonard graduating from Princeton or Howard only(!) having a master's degree from MIT. Then he gets hurt because Penny doesn't react to a comment the way he wanted? Screw him.

That's probably the most annoying thing about Sheldon; he constantly belittles and disparages everyone around him, yet he expects others to constantly laud and coddle him. He unceasingly criticizes those around him, yet he is unable to handle any criticism of others. Some of his treatment of Amy borders on abuse.

And if I were Howard, I would cut him off after he pulled that shit with Bernadette. Friendship over. Maybe a punch in the face, too.

Sorry but a degree from Princeton is barely above a degree from Barber College or Hamburger U. This is the one instance where Sheldon's superiority complex and mocking of Leonard is completely justified since Leonard is intelligent enough and from a family of enough means to graduate from a more credible school.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but I just googled the top ranked university physics programs, and according to US News and World Report, Princeton was tied for 2nd with UC Berkley. California Institute of Technology, Harvard, MIT and Stanford were all tied for 1st. I would say that's slightly better than a barber college.

I saw similar or better rankings at other sites.

Wouldn't it be kick if they ended the series by having Sheldon distance himself more and more from the gang until the last episode had everyone move away. Amy dumps his ass, Raj moves to India, Howard & Bernadette to wherever, and Leonard & Penny to Nebraska (they have a college there, don't they? ) Sheldon would be alone, and the last scene would be him in his spot finally realizing what he has lost.

Dark, but why the hell not? It would be better than the silly double wedding we all know is coming.

Howard & Bernadette in an effort to get as far away from Sheldon as possible move to the International space station.

Re: The Big Bang Theory - "The Workplace Proximity" - 10/17/13

I think the problem with Sheldon is that the writers seem cautious about changing his character too much. They know that he's one of the main draws of the show and brings in the casual audience just looking for laughs. They probably worry if they change him too much and too fast from the way he is that people won't like his character as much or something.

I thought this episode had it's moments though. It does sort of seem like the show is setting up a temporary breakup for Sheldon and Amy that may end the season with them finally hooking up or something.

It's only a matter of time before Amy finds some other guy.
