Very nice episode. Wondering if Shemar Moore will keep his leadership role now that he has been caught.

One of the best scenes was when Hotch went into his house with his gun drawn with no background music. I think it really added to the stress and intensity of the scene, especially when you could hear Hotch breathing really hard.

Re: Criminal Minds -- "100" -- 11/25/09 -- 100th Episode

What an excellent episode. I'm not usually a fan of the flashback/cutaway style, but this was really well done. Worth watching again to catch all the little nuances I missed.

DB Sweeney and the actress portraying Haley really were great, and I agree with the sentiments about Hotch and the team's reactions to the last call from The Reaper. A really good job by everyone.

I think the small details really helped, things like bringing JJ's husband and baby in, and having Garcia's boyfriend help out.

With Strauss conducting interviews, and the team leading us to believe she was conducting a witch hunt against Hotch (again) it was really an extra "Whoa!" moment at the end, when she interviewed Hotch, and basically led him into giving her a reason to let him off the hook. After all the crap she gave him a couple seasons ago, that was a nice touch.

Re: Criminal Minds -- "100" -- 11/25/09 -- 100th Episode

This episode was just brutal. But the 60 minutes flew by in a blink.

I agree with the other comments and the only thing I can add is that I was really struck by the reaction of the whole team when his wife was killed. The camera goes to each member one by one to record their shock. Very well done.

How does Hotch come back from something like this?

Now with Hotch's ex dead, I can't see him taking back his leadership role right away with the team since he's now a single father of a small boy.

Maybe JJ's nanny/sitter/whatever can take care of Hotch's kid along with JJ's.

That was a fantastic episode. Probably one of the best of the series. Hotch going into his house was super suspenseful. I laughed at my wife b/c she cried at the end, and I told her she shouldn't be crying about a show based on serial killers.

From a dramatic standpoint, the episode did it's job and made me as a viewer feel alot of the suspense/sadness that Hotch and the team felt pursuing The Reaper and Haley's murder. I don't blame anyone who would get misty eyed watching this episode. The scene with Hotch holding the bloodied Haley reminded me alot of Season 1 of 24 when Jack's wife was murdered in the season finale by Nina.

Criminal Minds -- "The Slave of Duty" -- 12/09/09

Absolutely loved the episode from 2 weeks ago. Looking forward to seeing where Hotch's character goes from here.

wow, no one chimed in on this. I thought this was a good episode with the team trying to deal with emotions since it really hit home for all. Also it seems that Emily is on a verge of a mental/emotional issue.

Re: Criminal Minds -- "The Slave of Duty" -- 12/09/09

Yeah I just saw this last night. Thought it was a good follow up to the 100th episode. The scene at the funeral was very poignant and I thought it was sad seeing little Jack stare at the videos of his Mom.

The case was also pretty good as well. It was interesting seeing the team struggling to stay focused while still thinking about Hotch.

The ending of this episode was pretty good too when Emily apprehended the Unsub and recited the dialogue about his new prison buddies.

Never for once doubted that Hotch was come back to the team.

BTW, Paget Brewster's hair looks so much better this season without the weird bangs. But it seems like A.J. Cook is going with them this season, but they suit her better.

Criminal Minds -- "The Fight" -- 04/07/10 -- Spinoff Pilot starring Forest Whitaker

Criminal Minds

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Hotch and the team investigate the murders of homeless men in San Francisco, and they work with a separate BAU team handling a case that may be connected to the deaths.

Forest Whitaker guest stars as Special Agent Sam Cooper.

Similar to what NCIS did last year, this is the Proposed Criminal Minds spinoff starring Forest Whitaker as the lead. If the ratings are good, this will be considered for a timeslot in the Fall.

Beau Garrett, who was on House a few episodes ago, is the female lead.

I love Criminal Minds and think it's one of CBS' best procedurals, but I think this might be overkill to have 2 BAU teams (one in DC and another in San Francisco) I hope this does something unique to make it stand out.

I've missed the last few episodes. I watched the preview video, though. Why are there two units? Have there always been two or will this be a new unit? I dont remember them being mentioned before.

I've watched every episode this season and this is the 1st time they have mentioned a 2nd BAU Unit being in existence. It's a backdoor Pilot, so the whole point is to set up Whitaker's team.

Not in the least impressed with the new team.

For an Oscar winning actor, I thought Whitaker was incredibly shitty in this. And is it just me or has his eye become more distracting? Maybe his weight loss has accentuated the defect?

Don't think I'm going to watch the spin-off.

I don't watch this show regularly, but I usually like it when I do. I have to agree with you. I thought Whitaker was really bad and although he lost a lot of weight, he looks more sickly than healthy. I was wondering if he had a disease.

As soon as the new team started their banter, my wife yelled out "The BAU is no place for cockiness!" I agree, not impressed with the new team.

I have watched a few reruns of this on cable and I would probably like the show if I didn't have a desire to punch a character whenever they use the term "unsub". It is especially annoying when they have identified, or even captured, the subject but continue to call him the unsub.
