Re: Criminal Minds -- The 6th season thread -- Wednesday's on CBS
Just finished this today. Great episode and sendoff for AJ Cook. I think alot of the writing in this episode was more of an indirect fuck you to CBS (not the producers or production company), especially in the scenes where they were talking about how the decision has been made and it's above our pay grade. The final segment with the scenes that flashed back to memorable moments in JJ's stint on the show were poignant. I noticed that Hotch mentioned she will not be replaced and he is double-dipping as the media liason as well. I'm still scratching my head out of all the CBS procedurals, this was/is still getting great ratings on Wednesday nights. If you want to cut costs on aging shows, go with the CSI's or better yet don't greenlight a unneccessary spin-off.

In case your a little bit behind on Criminal Minds, they finally updated the opening credits after AJ Cook left a few weeks ago. It's the 1st opening credits update on this show since season 3 when Mantegna 1st joined.

I dig the new opening score.

Yeah, I noticed that score, nice subtle change-up. Off-topic, I remember being bummed that Mandy Patinkin was leaving but I have really enjoyed the chemistry and charisma Mantegna has brought to the series. Strange now Mantegna has been on longer and the show didn't really skip a beat.

Fairly certain the kid's house at the end of the episode was the house from Terminator 2 that John Connor lived in.. Jannelle and Todd's house.

I thought there were a lot of episodes last season that were pretty weak and I hated the spinoff so I didnt have high hopes for this season especially with the cast changes. But it's been pretty good so far.

FYI, for anyone who watches (I know there is a few fans here)
Tonight's episode "Lauren" is Paget Brewster (Prentiss) final episode on the show.
Also, A.J. Cook will guest star tonight. Matthew Gray Gubler (Dr. Reid) directed the episode.

Is Cook back for good? If so, I hope they get rid of the generic blond chick they hired to replace her.

A.J. Cook was asked to come back for this episode since it's Brewster's final episode with the show.
I read that Brewster already signed on to a Pilot for next season.

Some really good news to report:
http://www.deadline.com/2011/04/a-j-...ro-is-leaving/
AJ Cook (JJ) is in talks to return next season fulltime.
Paget Brewster (Prentiss) as most of you know left the show a few weeks ago. She's filming a Pilot for NBC, if NBC passes on it, she could also return as well.
Rachel Nichols, the new generic blonde chick, will be taking a hike if both of them come back.
Ed Bernero, Criminal Minds showrunner, is leaving though. He has a new deal at Sony and a possible new Pilot at ABC called Partners with Annie Wersching from 24.
Very happy as a longtime Criminal Minds fan

I wish Lola Glaudini had never left. She's the one I truly miss on this show. Never was all that big on Brewster.

Criminal Minds -- Season Finale -- "Supply and Demand" -- 5/18/11
Promo:
<iframe width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/xQkzwUOu3Ho" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Synopsis:
Episode 24 of 24
to A.J. Cook returning for good starting with this episode.
Paget Brewster's Pilot on NBC did not get picked up, and CBS/ABC has a contract option for her to come back next season.

to the inferior Criminal Minds spinoff getting the axe.
This, CSI: NY are IMO the best written CBS procedurals. I like Hawaii 5-O, but it's only a rookie show and needs work to get better.

I hope they bring Paget Brewster back. Will be interesting to see how the dynamic of the team would be given the fact the team was led to believe she was dead.
