They should of had Nick show up for a quick cameo when Grissom was arrested in San Diego. Otherwise, it was a decent finale.

I was surprised not to see Nick as well. Overall, pretty good. I pretty much bailed on the show pretty quickly after Grissom left. I caught some with Danson here and there and thought he was solid, maybe I'll run through those on Hulu

George Eads chose not to appear. Really strange. Also, remember Danson is joining CSI Cyber, season debuts on Sunday.

I'm betting the part of the San Diego cop, played by Michael Beach, was originally intended for Eads. They probably re-wrote it when he passed. Otherwise, Grissom could have easily been anywhere on the West coast with his boat, but they were hoping to tie him in since he works for the San Diego crime lab.

He was also suspended for several episodes a season or two ago when he got in an argument with a writer over the quality of the scripts. I can see there being bad blood there and him just wanting to move on.

It's not up on/Demand for me yet and I'd rather not have to watch tv on my 13" computer.
Last ep of a show that was on for 15 years and I doubt barely 60% who have to record saw the last moments.

Yeah actually the only reason I knew this was on was because of this thread. I hurriedly set the PVR to record it a couple of hours beforehand.
So thanks DJariya, if you ever want me to give you a blowjob in appreciation just PM me.

I caught up with this last night...I hadn't watched the series since Petersen was a regular.
I thought the storyline was pretty 'meh', but Petersen's acting was really good...he was really the only reason to tune in. Typical, predictable ending, although at least they didn't kill anyone off (other than Shue's character )

Nice to see Doug Hutchison get some work after he has fucked his life up for the last few years...the guy plays a good creep probably just like in real life.

I too figured that the San Diego tie was all about Nick, but sadly it was not be.
Only major complaint I have about the episode, and frankly a lot of these procedurals, is that we all knew who did it once we recognized Doug Hutchison.

finally got around to watching this.
they should have gunned down the bad guy at the end. He said if he pressed the button or pulled the ring, so he didn't have a deadman switch. Point all those laser sighted guns at his head and blast away, he wouldn't have a chance to detonate
Overall it was a good send off though, getting most of the originals back

This year CBS is introducing its first schedule in 16 years without a CSI series as the venerable procedural franchise ended with the cancellation of the latest offshoot CSI: Cyber. But that may change. “We are incredibly proud of all CSI shows, CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller said during CBS’ upfront press breakfast. “It may come back in another incarnation.”
I hear the producers of the billion-dollar drama franchise also have been open to revisiting it and, after a break, that may happen.
After an inauspicious start on Friday in fall 2000, the mothership series went on to become TV’s biggest drama series and helped CBS establish a foothold on Thursday. The original, which ended its 15-year run with a two-hour finale last fall, spawned three spinoffs: CSI: Miami, CSI: NY and CSI: Cyber.

Well, if you have access to Hulu, all 15 seasons + the 2 hour finale are there.

As for the article posted, I could see CSI coming back at some point. It's still a recognizable brand name. Maybe a shorter series like what 24 is doing. They definitely need to be away a few years though, especially after how Cyber flamed out.
