Breaking Bad -- "Rabid Dog" -- 9/01/13

As for stashing him at Hank's, they can argue extenuating circumstances if it comes down to it, as Hank pointed out that putting Jesse in the system will alert Walt. Citing the fact that Walt arranged for the simultaneous killing of 11 people in prison can help in that regard.

Saw this on slashfilm.
From the "Confessions" episode:

The LWYRUP ("Lawyer Up") license plate is partially obscured to WYRUP ("Wire Up"). In "Rabid Dog," Jesse wears a wire.
A couple of other screenshots from "Rabid Dog"

Hank behind bars? He hasn't exactly been following proper legal procedures.

Coffee mug that says DEA and the mug's handle kind of looks like another "D" ... DEAD?

Cmon, I seriously doubt the writers are going to so much effort to craft these hints. I heard that they spent like 3 days trying to decide if Walt's cancer should return or not. I'm sure the only easter egg in this episode was the return of Walt's underwear. haha

Yeah, I'm sure you guys are right. Breaking Bad's writers have never used foreshadowing before. Why would they start now?

When Walt was searching his house at the beginning of the episode and came out of the back bedroom with a shocked look on his face and his gun hanging limply at his side the first thing I thought was that he found Jessie's body, dead from suicide. Now I knew the writers wouldn't kill Jessie off like that, especially off camera, but that was the only thing I could think of that would account for Walt's reaction.

Everything is unfolding nicely, the writers are really delivering on these last eight episodes.
I still can't think how we go from here, to Walt with an M-60 and 300 rounds of ammunition, though. Seems like a lot will need to transpire in the next four episodes. I imagine next week will be a big one since everything is in play at this point.
I don't think Hank will be able to put Walt away. I'm curious what Jesse's plan is.
With Walt now asking for help from Todd's uncle, and Todd and his crew now partnered with Lydia, I think there's a chance Walt gets pulled in for one last cook.

I think at this point that Hank just wants to see Walt go down whether it is to jail or death (and not due to cancer). He wants to see Walt suffer and I don't think he cares anymore how to make that happen.
None of this is going to end well for any of them in my opinion.

Was there a little nod to viewers trying to figure this thing out in Jessie's speech to Hank? When he said things never end up with Walt the way that you think they should play out, and that's he's one lucky SOB, it made me think of all of these hypotheses I've been reading.
I just don't see anyone (of who's left) emerging unscathed from this (except maybe Saul). With Walt getting some really bad dudes involved, Jesse going off the deep end, Hank realizing Walt ain't going go to jail but still wants him to pay the piper...the shit has to hit the fan soon.
Reservoir Dogs ending, anyone?

We know that the M-60/Ricin scenes take place on Walt's 52nd birthday. That can only be months, not years, away in story time.
Somehow, in the next three episodes, Walt has to get a new identity, go to New Hampshire(?), develop an enemy that requires an automatic weapon to defeat, return to ABQ, get his home seized by the Feds, and grow a full head of hair!

Right - and we know one thing:
You know how Walt told Hank that in six months, Walt will be dead from cancer and he'll have no one to prosecute?
Well, based on the flash-forwards to the Denny's 52nd birthday, Walt's cancer goes back into remission.

If he even has cancer! That could have been a ruse.

Hank wants the arrest for more selfish/personal reasons than it being the "right thing" to do. The way I look at is that Walter is responsible for the deaths of many hardened criminals and truth be told, who cares? I also think that the show does a good job of showing that life is not as easy as following steps and that any of us are capable of becoming what we never imagined if the circumstances forced themselves on you.

If Jesse had sat down on the bench and listened to Walt, how much would Walt have admitted? I think it was clear that he'd have explained why he poisoned Brock, but would he have said more than that?
And if they got an admission on poisoning Brock (in clear enough language to get an indictment), what kind of sentence could the prosecution have gotten?

No, I guess I missed that. I know he claimed he had cancer, but I wasn't sure it was confirmed. Was that in the first half of Season 5 or the second half?

It was in the second for sure. Can't remember the ep but I think he was on the phone and then they revealed he was at chemo.
