ID an obscure 1980's short lived sitcom that changed names with new seaqson
I remember watching this back in the early to mid 1980's. it ran around 1982-1985 at the latest, for 2 maybe 3 seasons at most. I know the name of the show changed when they started the second or third season.
It was a family sitcom, parents and brother and younger sister. It focused mainly on the older brother. The brother I believe had wavy blonde hair.
The show didn't do too well in the ratings and they tried to revamp it in the second or third season. It changed names, to maybe incorporate the brothers name into the title. I believe after the name change the mother was widowed or divorced as the dad was no longer in it.
The only episode I can recall is where the brothers friend had a date with the younger sister who had a crush on him. At some point, they went on a date to a drive-in movie chaperoned by the older brother who wasn't thrilled with his friend going on a date with his sister. At some point, the friend and the sister his in the back seat and the brother punches the friend in the face.

Spencer, later titled Under One Roof, is an American teen situation comedy broadcast on NBC for one season starting in December 1984. The show originally starred Chad Lowe as high school student Spencer Winger, Mimi Kennedy as his mother Doris Winger, and Ronny Cox as his father George Winger.
Lowe left the series in 1985 after six episodes and was replaced by Ross Harris, who assumed the role of Spencer. At that time the show's title was changed from Spencer to Under One Roof; the first episode with the new title aired March 23, 1985. Cox also left the show during the retooling, his character written off as having left the family for a 23-year-old woman. Harold Gould and Frances Sternhagen were added to the cast as Spencer's maternal grandparents.

I don't remember this. That's about the most forgettable theme song I've ever heard..Just sounded like noise. I do remember Valerie/The Hogan Family.
Let's see if anyone can get this one. Can anyone name a short-lived (cable I think) show from several years ago that was like a western version of CSI? Popped into my head yesterday when watching Copper..kind of like a deja vu moment.

My favorite obscure sitcom that changed its name was Together We Stand/ Nothing Is Easy (with Scott Grimes and Elliott Gould in the first incarnation.)

A little less obscure, but I remember Second Chance, a sitcom about Keil Martin dying in the far flung future of 2011 and being too good for Hell but too bad for Heaven, so he gets sent back in time to guide his younger self, played by Matthew Perry. That then got revamped into Boys will be Boys, dropping the Martin character entirely and focusing on Perry and his buddies.
And even less obscure, You'll Never Get Rich/The Phil Silvers Show/Sgt. Bilko and Make Room for Daddy/The Danny Thomas Show.
