This was better than last week's episode. The dude playing Hal got to do some real acting for a change. I'm glad the writers were aware that the audience would think his fate was ridiculous, so they had that scene where Pope laid odds that Hal would get off scot free. I took it as them winking at the audience. When did Lourdes become a full-fledged doctor? I remember her helping Anne in past seasons, but does that really make her an M.D.? How was Tom still the President (and now Gloria Reuben's character) after he met the real President a few episodes ago?

My eyes were rolling at so many things in this episode. I've been a mild defender of this show, but so many inexplicable events occurred to reach the conclusion the writers wanted. The only thing I truly liked about it was Pope giving odds on what would occur with Hal, that had a bit of meta-humor in it.

*However, we haven't seen for sure that the President is dead, and Cochise was with him and it seemed they were building his character up for something important, so maybe one or both of them will pop up again some day.

Well, it's not like anyone's taking the MCAT and going to medical school anymore. She's been trained by Anne, and since Anne is MIA right now I guess Lourdes is filling her shoes as best she can. Hey, in an alien apocalypse, you take what you can get.
I believe the real President is now presumed dead* since his plane got shot down at the same time as Tom and Pope's plane.

at Pope running book with death odds.
Given what transpired when he met with real President, safe to say that the Charleston government is at odds with the real President and are far enough away so that they need their own governance. But I'd guess you'll have some kind of civil war type storyline develop down the road.

I had to roll my eyes at the end when Weaver told Tom he couldn't go because he had his daughter to think about. Then in the very next line he tells Tom if they don't come back, he's gonna come looking them.

I fast-forwarded through a lot of this episode, mostly because anytime they focus on his kids I'm bored to tears.
This season got off to a great start, and finding the President and his troops was interesting. Then they crash the plane and now we're back where we started practically.

And yeah Lourdes is an unofficial doctor. With the world in chaos, getting training from a pediatrician is her best bet to be a "Doctor"
I'm guessing that Moon Bloodgood must have told the writers going into pre-production that she was pregnant and expecting around the time of filming. That's got to be the reason why they were able to conveniently write in this storyline with her and the baby.
