True Blood -- "At Last" -- 7/07/13

Synopsis:

Sookie (Anna Paquin) confronts her growing attraction to the mysterious Ben (Rob Kazinsky). Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) counters Burrell's (Arliss Howard) brutal anti-vampire initiatives by hitting his nemesis where it hurts the most. Growing up all too quickly, Andy's (Chris Bauer) faerie daughters end up keeping dangerous company. Sam (Sam Trammell) and Nicole (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) make a connection. Bill (Stephen Moyer) tasks Takahashi (Keone Young) to synthesize a new kind of blood.

Written by Alexander Woo; directed by Anthony Hemingway.

1. I hope Niall comes back. Rutger was really great on the show.
2. Jason under the influence of Ben's blood was awesome. Ryan Kwanten is underrated.
3. Eric & Willa were smoking hot together. I liked the whole classic vampire, classic vampire bait thing they had going.
4. I cannot believe Jessica drained all those fairies. I did not see that coming. I probably should have, but I did not. Are they dead though? I am not sure.
5. Ben as Warlow works for me. Just.like.that he becomes more interesting.
6. Sookie being proactive on her own was nice to see. We'll see how well it works out, but good on her for trying.
7. So they have Nora and Pam now. Eric is going to really lose what's left of his shit.

I really liked the last 2 episodes of the show. This season is shaping up better than expected so far.

Very good episode. I loved that closing shot of Sookie and Warlow.

Warlow as some ancient super powerful vampire was dull. Warlow as a fae vampire is a pretty cool concept.

I wish Sookie would've let grandpa and Jason in on her plan. Maybe then grandpa would still be around. Glad he's not dead though.

This was probably one of my favorite episodes of this entire series. Lots of excellent, weird shit.

I know the fairy kids were annoying and Andy's only had them for like a week or two but, that was really fucked up to have them killed that way. I know it's Jessica but, he really deserves some vengeance from that. And that was really Eric's master plan? Oh, and Sookie's so cool that she threatened Warlow with her light after finding out he immune to everything that would kill other vampires.

Her grandfather has told her that would work (but she only gets one shot at it). It was nice to see Sookie being smart for a change. When she was touching Warlow's blood from the floor (after he healed Jason), my family was shushing me because I was verbally guiding her, "OK Sookie... you can't be clueless all your life... put it together...". She did well. But now we're at the point where she has the chance to destroy Warlow without him ever knowing what's coming, but we're going to get more conversation instead. Just zap him already. Sookie's the star of the show, but she's also the weakest link.

It's so much more interesting when the challenge of a show comes because of situations, not stupidity.

So the Rob Zombie looking guy and Ben are the same person then? Did he just shave off the beard and get a haircut?

Why didn't he drink Niall's blood?

Also, if Andy planned on confronting Bill, you'd think he'd want to take some backup with him. At least take Jason with.

I guess a fae drinking a fae's blood is just like a human drinking human blood...no affect? He looked like he was trying not to puke when he was spitting out the blood.

Have we seen him feed? Maybe because he is half-fae, he doesn't need to feed on human blood.

Maybe that's the point of the Lilith prophecy. Turn all vampires half fae, and the need to feed on humans is done.

We haven't seen him feed yet, but he is the chief and only suspect in the demise of Club Fairy. I think the charges would stick.

Of course, maybe he just killed them because they didn't suit his purpose and didn't actually drink their blood. He definitely didn't want Niall's blood, and the other vampires would've been all over that.

And they would also get to walk in the sun again too, correct?

Seems like they may be heading in the direction of Warlow not really being evil. And Bill will have the scientist synthesize Walowe's blood.

Of course they had to show Bellefluer being all Dad like..only to eventually rip his heart out by killing off his daughters. Does this make Bellefleur 100% a Vampire Vigilante?

In regards to the fairies, I kind of liked them in small doses as a 'lets have some laughs with pre-teen girls/overbearing Dad). You could have done something cool with them as they grew up as adults (Since all the fairies are now dead), maybe they could have been Sookie's fairy army or something.

They were great as mouthy preteens. They reminded me of the Geico middle school popular girl commercial.

So, 4 episodes in, they kill a bunch of newly introduced characters that they gave a lot of screen time and emphasis to without advancing the narrative? Did they reveal someone's secret from their mind reading? Did they announce themselves to the world on videotape to help those college kids with their goal of showing the world other supernaturals? Did they at least synthesize their blood? They didn't do anything except maybe give Andy a reason to be anti-vampire. Really? That's it?

If I missed it and they are dead, it feels lame for some reason.
True, in the past when vamps have killed fae, they have been drunk out of existance. Maybe they are still alive. Otherwise a 2 year plot point goes down the drain for nothing (Bellefleur did the hibbity dibbity with the fairy 2 seasons ago.)

Or they're dying, so Bill turns them into quadruplette Bilith powered super hybrids with the hormonal surges of teenagers, and all hell breaks loose.
