Re: Game of Thrones -- "Mhysa" -- Season Finale -- 6/9/13

I had a much different final shot in mind, but that worked.

No one should be disappointed if you watched season 1 and season 2's finales. You know by now that episode 9 (and to some extent, episode 4) are the big ones.

Arya was fucking great! Davos is the man.

It was the first "man" she's killed.

I thought the final shot might be ...book spoiler...
Spoiler:
Mance Rayder gathering his wildling army. Complete with giants and all the other cool things.

Still well done though. This episode did a good job of setting all of the big picture stuff into motion.

She killed the guard at Harrenhal allowing them to escape. She is trying to be careful with what she reveals to the hound.

This show has messed me up. I was so happy for the Jaime/Cersei reunion! Twincest never looked so good.

Pretty sure that's book only, think they just walked out and all guards were already dead in the show.

I think she'll be there next season. I think having her immediately after RW wouldn't have been dramatic. Some people would have been like 'what's she doing back so quickly'. Just let it marinate and then BOOM! hit em with Lady Stoneheart out of nowhere.

Re: Game of Thrones -- "Mhysa" -- Season Finale -- 6/9/13

Very low key season finale. It was pretty up to par with previous finales.

Arya getting a kill.

at Ygritte being pissed at Jon Snow.

Did Sansa find out that her mother and brother died? Were we supposed to assume that based on Tyrion walking in and her look at him?

at the Cersei and Jaime reunion. Will she still want to bang stumpy?

?
I think it's safe to assume Joffrey ran to break the news to her.

Re: Game of Thrones -- "Mhysa" -- Season Finale -- 6/9/13

I thought that the reveal of Ramsay Snow was a bit anti-climactic after a season's worth of build-up.

Just a mention of him during the Roose Bolton-Walder Frey scene, and then cut to Ramsay eating what appears to be Theon's cock.

I had assumed that they kept the reveal of Ramsay Snow a secret in order to conceal Roose Bolton's treachery at the Red Wedding; to let viewers know that Bolton's bastard son was the one who sacked Winterfell at the end of the second season and that Theon was being held and tortured by him might have tipped viewers off that House Bolton was not to be trusted. (Events here played out a bit differently in the books, though.)

She was crying and staring out the window, safe to say someone told her.

Anybody who feels let down by this episode, or any episode for that matter, is simply an idiot. Turn in your DVD Talk membership and leave the fellowship of humans.

Hey, could somebody help me out with the entire Theon thing... I'm still kind of confused, who was the guy holding him and why? This thing is great, but it has so many plots and characters

Re: Game of Thrones -- "Mhysa" -- Season Finale -- 6/9/13

I liked everything but Theon's neverending torture and the very end. I have been enjoying Dany's story this year, but that was a disappointing and boring way to end the season.

Arya was great, as was Ser Davos.

Re: Game of Thrones -- "Mhysa" -- Season Finale -- 6/9/13

Decent finale, I knew it wasn't going to have anything too crazy but I was hoping for a bigger build up into next season. Even with Sam, Jon Snow, and the letters going out and Stannis turning his attention to beyond the wall, that particular thread still doesn't seem all that big to me despite everything that i've seen. Maybe it's just me.

My favorite moments are still with Tywin and Tyrion. Enjoyed Joffrey continuing to be a little shit and his outburst, as well as Tywin continue to verbally beat him. I think they finally got me rooting for Jaime a bit, as I liked him seeing Cersei again.

Dany was ok; for all the other characters doing questionable things, she certainly seems positioned as the "good" one.

It was nice to see Sansa smile and joke for a second. I knew, that after last week, that it couldn't last.
