After watching and listening to her, I can only imagine your fantasies include a potato sack and duct tape.

See ya, phony-persona prepared-pizza-dough-loving Lovely!
People should know that using prepared ingredients is pretty much the kiss of death.
My DVR happened to record a "how contestants are picked" special as part of the series. It must have aired last year because it's all last year's people, except they did have Chad the BBQ guy auditioning, implying that he was one of the final cuts.
I think most of the people came off pretty poorly in this episode.

I wonder if they have an episode in the can with Paula Deen as a guest judge? That would be interesting.

I've made donuts with the rolls of Pillsbury biscuit dough before, which is probably pretty close to the pizza dough. They're not bad for something to make in your kitchen on a Sunday morning, but definitely not something I'd serve to world famous chefs while I was competing on a cooking show.

I want to know who in the heck was ordering all that food. The theater we saw had like 15-20 total people in it, yet we were made to believe that at least 50 orders placed.

I said the same thing while I was watching it. Either they didn't show the whole theater or they had additional rooms that also watched the trailers?

Did anyone watch last week's episode: the "live" 4th of July? Not sure how that idiotic blonde and her cocktails were "safe". She was horrible. That said, I think the right person got the boot.

Yeah, I watched it and didn't have an issue with the boot. Viet was just not that awesome on camera.
The prospect of a Last Chance Kitchen return annoys me, though.

i would've liked to see Viet stick around. he definitely has the cooking chops, but lacks any charisma onscreen.

That's why a lot of their cooking shows are so boring. They have robots on screen.

Is anyone watching the web series for eliminated contestants on the Food Network website? It's like they determined who they wanted to add back into the competition before it started.
Same goes with the TV show. People are making food that is not getting high praise week after week, but the TV people think they might be able to read off a cue card and handle multiple takes while filming so they continue to advance.

I guess technically these people don't really need to cook at all. They can always prepare someone else's recipes on screen and have any subsequent media ghost-produced.
Not loving anyone this season.

I like Nikki, but I hate her POV. I think Chad is the most interesting to me in terms of his food, but he can often be somewhat dry on camera.

After seeing what happened to last year's winner at this point its a wonder if they'll even bother to have a show on the air after winning.
I've noticed Aarti's vanished from the airwaves. We know Sandwich King is till there, but is Melissa D'Arabian still working?

Melissa and Aarti are both on Lose 5 Lbs. on the Cooking Channel. Not sure if that's still an ongoing series or if they're just rehashing episodes from last year.

I watched a few episodes of Melissa's show (only winner who I've watched for more than one episode) but I don't know if the show is still on. I admit I bought her recent book, and some of the recipes are good.

I think Sandwhich King is a good show, maybe because I think Jeff has a really fun personality and his sandwhiches actually look good.
I liked D'Arabian's show because most of her stuff was simple at home cooking.
I knew the second she won that I would never watch Aarti's show and I was right.
