After viewing the first episode, Wiig and Rogen are terrible. Rest of the plot, pretty funny.

I think its pretty hilarious that they're having Cera do a whole "The Social Network" type storyline. |

The Ron Howard stuff is incredible.

Wiig is really good as a younger Lucille.

John Slattery has been hysterical in every scene he's been in.

I stopped after episode 5. I don't want to exhaust all the episodes in 1 day. Will pick it up again tomorrow.

re: Arrested Development (Netflix) -- Season 4 Thread -- 5/26/13
I'm halfway into episode 7. Might as well knock it all out.

Nope, how many people know what he looks like to even notice.
I guess you haven't paid any attention at all to the behind the scenes mess with Community. It was a blink and you'll miss it cameo.

Don't call it that.
WTF are you talking about? Imagine vs. Imaging. Kind of a cheap joke, but it made me laugh. |
re: Arrested Development (Netflix) -- Season 4 Thread -- 5/26/13
I'm loving the season the further I get into it as earlier events become clearer when seen on subsequent episodes, but I do have two main issues so far

Herman Cain references in episode 12 (Maeby's episode).
Poor Steve Holt. |

Actually what i think he was going for Is when someone refers to it as the OC they say don't call it that immediately. That's what he was going for a failed.
I know all about the Dan Harmon community stuff but don't know what he looks like. I'm sure there isn't one show runner who I know what he looks like from any show I've ever seen. |
re: Arrested Development (Netflix) -- Season 4 Thread -- 5/26/13
So I noticed that my rarely-used Netflix app on my phone has all the episode runtimes listed on a single screen. I noticed a couple interesting things about season 4:
The episodes are, on average, nearly 33 minutes long. Even more interestingly, the combined runtime is 8 hours and 8 minutes which is actually 24 minutes longer than season 1, plus season 1 has 7 more instances of credits at the beginning and ending of each show. So this new season 4 is actually the longest Arrested Development season yet. |
re: Arrested Development (Netflix) -- Season 4 Thread -- 5/26/13
You did fail...because the joke is used when calling it "The OC", which he did not do.

re: Arrested Development (Netflix) -- Season 4 Thread -- 5/26/13
Well, after years of waiting, I go to watch the first episode and I get an error message half way through playback telling me to try later. Spectacular

Watched the whole thing. It certainly had its moments, but

re: Arrested Development (Netflix) -- Season 4 Thread -- 5/26/13
Finished the whole thing.
A movie would be great. But they pack so much in, I don't know if another 2 hours would do the job. It was completely fresh and in-line with the first three seasons. Digital video has come a long way in the last seven years. Moments here-and-there felt cinematic (some closeups and whatnot). |

Greg "Tiny" Hamlin. Fuck season 4. |
re: Arrested Development (Netflix) -- Season 4 Thread -- 5/26/13
Just finished episode 2. Even though I'd read it was going to have each episode feature a character, I can see that playing out now, and see that they're going to make the back-stories of each character intersect after-the-fact.
I could tell in several scenes so far that greenscreen was being used, or the actors clearly weren't in the same room when filming (especially a few of the Henry Winkler scenes). But that didn't make it any less funny. |
re: Arrested Development (Netflix) -- Season 4 Thread -- 5/26/13
I just finished it. It was definitely different, but still very funny. I would watch another season of it.

re: Arrested Development (Netflix) -- Season 4 Thread -- 5/26/13
It's gonna be a while before I get to the new season, as I've decided to watch the entire series again.
Even though I have the DVDs, I'm watching them all through Netflix. As I get back into the show, I'm convinced more and more that this is the finest cast ever assembled for a TV show. It's criminal how many failed shows have come and gone from just the cast members of this series in the years since it ended. |
