If I've learned one thing from these threads the last couple years, it's that superdeluxe is the most easily entertained person on DVD Talk.

The ending with Daenerys was so great that I almost forgot about the rest of the episode....
But one thing earlier in the episode didn't make sense to me: the scenes with Theon.
So that archer guy, in the previous episode, killed the guys on horseback who had caught Theon and were about to get all "Deliverance" on his ass. But then the archer guy just lied to Theon and took him back to be tortured again.
Why???
Weren't the guys on horseback going to do the same thing (i.e. bring him back)? So why kill them? Weren't they his own men?
I know I'm missing something with what happened in this scene, so could someone please explain it!

24 episodes in, you should know that everyone has an agenda that may not be overtly obvious.

Also the torture hadn't worked and this way he got the answers the torturer was asking about, plus the added bonus about Bran and Rickon being alive.

There are some clues as to what happened to Theon, and who is holding them. They're easy to miss, but they are there.

I haven't read spoilers or the books, but after the latest episode it seems pretty clear that Theon is being held somewhere by the same people who captured Jamie and Brienne. The guy who freed Theon and brought him back was called 'bastard' by one of the guys that he killed, so I'm guessing he's trying to earn the affection of his father or mother by doing what he's doing.

Remember last season... who was suppose to go to winterfell and help there? Someone's son and bastard... That would be this guy. =)

I haven't read the books but to me it seems that the guy is a sadistic asshole who likes to mess with Theon. Killing a couple of his own men might be worth it just for the fun.

i loved seasons 1 and 2, but I have been pretty much bored with season 3 until the end of this episode. My wife and I didn't get to watch it until last night. The last scene with Daenerys(sp?) was freaking awesome. Each week I am waiting for her side of the story. It is the best story line in my opinion.
Hopefully Tyrion gets somemore screen time soon. He and Daeyners are my 2 favorite characters.
I haven't read the books. Well I did read a little of the first book, but that is it.
hopefully the season will get better as a whole, not just the dragon angle.

Why has Dani been forgotten by Kings Landing? If I remember season 1 correctly, Robert was concerned with her and tried to have her killed. With Robert dead one may think that no one else knows about her or shared his concern but as I recall the assassination was part of a small council decision. Maybe I missed something. Even if the Lannisters are busy with their current problems some one has to notice the army of the unsullied making their way to Westeros.

Even Varys has only heard "whispsers" of rumors of dragons and what Dany may be up to, she's largely been out of sight with a skeleton crew of a Dothraki horde. They're across the sea from one another and Westeros is a little preoccupied with the war of the five kings. Information doesn't flow as quickly as you think.
Though Dany has clearly just done something on the scale that is bound to be reported by sailors, smugglers, and pirates. It's one thing to leave Qarth without The Thirteen, but it's another entirely to reduce a major slaving city to ash.

Eventually the word will get out but by then Dany will have gotten ever so closer to King's Landing, or wherever she's headed first.
Can't wait to see how this all shakes out.....eventually.

I just can't wait to see the expression on Joffrey's face when he first sees a dragon. I hope they show the urine puddle accumulate at his feet.
