I see justice being serve by chopping off his dominant hand which is needed for his sword fighting. That was my point.

I am surprised by all of the hate for the music. Don't remember many who complained about "Rains of Castamere" from Blackwater. I will admit it seemed a bit off, but after what we had just seen it served to lighten the mood, and this ep. did have quite a bit more humor than the others. Don't know why, but it worked for me. I dig dark humor.

I will say that one of my favorite movie endings of all time is An American Werewolf in London where
Spoiler:
it immediately jumps to the upbeat Blue Moon after showing the dead body of David Kessler.

Given the reactions now, I can't wait until later. Eddard will seem like a minor occurrence by comparison.

Lannisters do not deserve moments of silence. Anything bad that happens to them should be celebrated.

Re: Game of Thrones -- "Walk of Punishment" -- 4/14/13

This episode was breakneck. They have so much incident and development to get through that they are cramming plot into every second. This shortchanges some stuff, but what can you do.

The song at the end rocked.

Arya asking The Hound if he remembered the inn was extremely subtle and a very smart move.

Catelyn and Robb continue to be boring idiots bumbling about.

The Blackfish was very well played.

Dany finally showing a little spine was nice.

Vargo Hoat is awesome.

North of the wall continues to be aimless and pointless. The scene with Craster was just silly, we already know how gross he is. Mance Rayder hasn't been given anything to work with.

Theon's escape and subsequent recapture was simply brilliant and terrifying. The best part of this episode.

Jaime showing a bit of class was really nicely handled.

Musical chairs was brilliant. Cersei has always been up there with Joffrey is levels of arrogance, smugness and cruelty, I love every scene she's in.

"We must have details". *pours the wine* Funniest moment in the series?

I knew that Jamie's hand was cut off in the books, but after the series backed away from cutting off Tyrion's nose, I didn't think the show would go through with it (especially considering how they would then have to use filming tricks and special effects from that point on to make it look like he's missing a hand).

So I was a bit surprised when they actually did it.

Yeah, another incidence is in the walking dead
Spoiler:
where in the comic Rick gets his hand chopped off but they said they would never do it in the show. Kirkman regrets doing it in the comic.
It was definitely cool that they stayed with the source for this event.

Cutting off Tyrion's nose doesn't really affect his character as he's already seen as a physical freak. The scar is enough. Cutting off Jaime's hand is (obviously) a major physical change with much bigger implications. They couldn't really leave it out.

I wondered with the change of his nose from the books if he would still scratch at it but I don't think I have seen Tyrion do it yet.

The Walking Dead was one thing that made me think they wouldn't do it...

(spoiler tag for anyone who has not watched The Walking Dead)
Spoiler:
...not because of Rick, but because of Merle. Cutting off his hand lead to the show using that ridiculous metal contraption on his arm to hide the fact that the actor still has a hand. Although I think GOT will do that better, it's still a pain to have to shoot scenes in a certain way or use special effects from now on to erase the hand from all of Jaime's scenes.

What The Flick Show has been talking about each episode this season after they air (ala "Talking Dead" for The Walking Dead) so within the tag is their video for this episode:

I imagine Jaime will get his gold prosthetic hand fairly soon.

I thought they might burn it to leave it unusable. That way he could wear a glove.

I did get a chuckle out of the bit of an inside joke that the Meereenese knot was a sex position.

Ha! I hadn't even noticed that line the first time I watched. Good stuff. Loved just about everything in this episode. Hated the Hold Steady song on first viewing... loved it the second time.

not really spoilers, but someone will bitch so:
Spoiler:
It's interesting that the non-book readers completely hate Jaime, while he's probably my favorite non-Tyrion character in the books due to how well written he is. He's horrible, but also pretty damn noble at times too. So many shades of grey. Some of that seems bound to get lost when we can't see inside his head.

I like (or at least respect) Jamie. At this point the only character I completely hate is Joffrey. Everybody else there's something with their story I can sympathize with.

I can't sympathize with Theon. I wish they would have killed him off w/ the quickness.

Really? I do wish him a quick death, but I understand why he did what he did.

Tyrion's nose would probably be a headache from a special effects/make-up standpoint. I doubt they'd want to digitally remove his nose in every scene Tyrion is in, like they did Red Skull from the Captain America movie.

Yeah, I gotta put Joffrey, Tywin, Cersei, and the Mountain as the biggest douchebags in all of Westeros. The Hound, Theon and Jaime all have there reasons maybe not good enough for the awful things they've done but I can sympathize.
