Justified -- Season Finale "Ghosts" -- 4/2/13

Plot: Raylan has a last, lethal showdown with the Detroit mob, while Boyd and Ava try to keep an incriminating secret dead and buried.

My gut tells me someone important is going to die. Anyone except Raylan is fair game.

I can't see Ava surviving this finale.
But it could also be Hershel, Glenn, or The Governor.

I'd guess winona. She has another show, and I just don't see how a baby helps this story (or any other story..ahem zombies).
I could see boyd also, as I mentioned before, he's been a great bad to play against, but he can't stay around forever.

I don't think I'd consider Winona a major part of the show dead or alive given how much she's been in this season.
I think if Boyd or Ava has to die, killing Boyd creates a lot more ways for the following seasons to play out. Let's not forget the chemistry that Ava has shown with Raylan or the way she has demonstrated her ability to survive. I also happen to think if Boyd has any say in the matter, he'd sacrifice himself for her.

After a disappointing Sunday night with The Walking Dead, Justified is already satisfying.
Wow. Damn Boyd, you burn the candle at both ends...
Wrapped up the season storyline and left a character on a cliffhanger. Doing it right

Well that's what I call a season finale. I'm glad we're not done with Ava yet, but she's certainly in a world of shit.
I'm also very excited to see Wynn back. The show has Ava to deal with, possibly more Limehouse to deal with, and I guess there's always the cousin Johnny loose end. That's not a ton. I'll be very interested to see where they go next January.

ahh, glad wynn survives, that's what he is so good at. I have to say if everything falls apart in this show and everyone dies in the last episode, I hope he is the 1 guy left, as he drives away in his RV..

This show just doesn't stop. Loved the finale, although you couldn't help but feel for Boyd. Though, with the history of this show, you can't help but think Paxton (and Moody) will pay for what they did to Ava.
PLENTY of places to go next season, even if they introduce no one new. Can't wait to pick up the season 4 on DVD.

There are places to go, but it feels like there are probably more unseen things to explore next year and more has been resolved than in the past two finales. I'm sure loose ends will be tied up, but it seems probable we'll get some new players next season.

What a great season. As people have already mentioned the Walking Dead finale, it angers me to no end when people have the gall to say that it is one of the best written shows on TV. Justified stomps the shit out of that show week in and week out.
I can't believe that it was actually planned to kill Boyd in the first season. I don't think this show is what it is without the symmetry of those two characters. You knew Boyd was going to turn that speech back on Raylan when they were riding in that truck together. Seeing Boyd at the end standing in what should have been his home with Ava, I felt completely sorry for him even knowing what terrible things he has done. Compare that to the **Walking Dead Finale Spoiler**:
I don't mean to shit on that show, but I just can't believe the numbers that show gets and the undeserved praise while this show barely gets 3 pages of discussion.
I can't wait to see where they take the show next season, and I can watch this show with full confidence that whatever direction the show takes, I have confidence that the people behind the show are going to deliver something worth watching and supporting.

Why did the mob deliver a rocking chair in the first place? Why not just show up and hold Winona?
Another great season, another slimy evil villain that you like to see wasted. I would like to have witnessed Yes Dear die though, it's more fun that way.
I guess next season will be about Boyd going through hell to get Eva out.

Raylan was awesome tonight, from the shootout at Winona's to setting up Nicky to "Sammy's scared of his own shadow, 'cause his shadow could kick his ass."
Winona was pretty badass herself. Loved her and Raylan shooting the gangster up, Jules and Vincent-style.
It'll be interesting to see where they take Boyd from here. Ava was stupid trying to move that body herself.
It's been mentioned in these threads before, but the dialogue on this show is really the best on TV. There are no wasted lines. Loved Raylan and Boyd's conversations.
That would be great.

I'm forced to watch WD with some friends, but they won't give the time of day to Justified. I suppose it doesn't have zombies, and that it's a slow burn, but at least it burns, unlike WD, which is just slow, boring and stupid.
Anyhoo, yeah, great finale, to a great season. Can't say enough good things about this show!

The show moving to being completely serialized this season was greatly appreciated (though I will admit that missing last week's episode with FX not showing repeats except the West coast airing has taught me to NEVER let that happen again). There are a lot of avenues to head down next season, but I'm fairly certain a new person from Detroit is likely to be a big bad in the mix. Can't wait!!!!

Count me as another who thought it was brilliant, and it made TWD finale look that much worse (and it was already horrible).
LOVED the scene at Winona's place--thought that might be the focus of the episode but 12 minutes in and it's over.
Just a fanstastic season--can't believe it's already over.

Just keep reminding yourself... taste is subjective. It kind of helps me make it through The Walking Dead threads. But yeah... it's not even close.

Love this show...top notch dialogue as welll as acting...
But....what was the deal with the chair, why did Picker need to deliver/assemble it on last weeks episode? I am thinking I am missing something with that whole scene?
