Unless they are drastically different from their comic book counterparts (as was the case with Andrea), I don't get all the love for Tyrese and Sasha. They both sucked and I'm actually glad little to no time was spent on them in season 3. Making them regulars isn't good news to me in the slightest.
The character that has been a disaster is Michonne. Her story, dialogue and the actress playing her were all pretty bad for such a featured role in season three. But the comic fans seem to love her, so she will stick around since she swings a sword.
In the Walking Dead universe, Tyreese is correctly spelled with the two "e"s. I see everyone trying to spell it the normal way, but that is not how Kirkman writes the name.

Are we sure Penny was his daughter? If he only told that to Andrea he was probably lying.
I'm thinking its a list of his former students and he was a teacher or bus driver or something when the zpocalypse broke out. Total guess. Probably wrong, but it would make his characters' fall into madness more interesting.

Spoiler:
Of course, if you view the Rise of the Governor book as cannon, there's a shitty, pointless twist to the character that makes things even stranger.

The Governor said (in the show) during the sitdown with Rick that his job involved him having a much younger boss. I took it to mean that he was an office worker or something like that (or maybe he even said it, I don't remember).

The creators of The Walking Dead owe a lot to Stephen King's The Stand:
you got Rick (Stu Redman)
you got/had Lori (Frannie Goldsmith)
you had/had Shane (Harold Lauder)
you have the Governor (Randall Flagg)
you have/had Milton (Lloyd Henreid)

What "mission" could the Governor be on in Season 4?
#1 - he's isolated and alone, ostrasised from Woodbury based on the survivor telling everyone that the Governor is a psychopath and kills his people on whims. He can never return there, he killed his "loyal" servant (Milton) and his lover (Andrea). He has nobody now.
#2 - is his "rant" simply going to be Revenge against the Rickgroup? Is that all the Governor wants in his life - to eliminate, anniliate the six or seven people in the original Rickgroup? Then what, Gov? what will your life be after they're all dead? what'cha gonna do after?
#3 - sure, he could recruit new people, and develop a brand-new "town," but something like that would take a lot of damn time. He's got Martinez and the black guy (forgot his name - he never really had a story or any lines in the show that I can remember). Big deal.
Basically, what will the Aftermath be for Philip aka The Governator? Will Act III simply be petty revenge (for which he has no basis for, since he's the one who started the damn war) against Rickgroup? Or is there a Bigger Picture here that will be revealed in time?

I suppose that, in theory, a zombie is dead and isn't metabolizing anything, so if they are placed in an environment with temperatures below freezing, they will eventually freeze solid like a chunk of meat.

I think they'll treat him like The Humungus in Road Warrior. Basically showing up on occasion to harass and kill or maim a hero or two. I think he'll build his numbers with other cutthroat scavengers. He has no other purpose than revenge. I think he'll last about half the season, and eventually die in an assault on the prison, a massive fire or explosion that forces everyone out of the prison.

I thought him and Milton worked at Staples or Best Buy.

I got tired of her scowl and mute personality early on, but I thought she did ok in the car when she convinced Merle not to take her to Woodbury. And I thought she was appropriately upset when she realized Andrea's fate in the season finale.

I know the producers like to shock the audience by killing off regular characters from Season 1, but after 3 seasons of decimating the original cast I'd like to see them surprise us in Season 4 by not killing off a single Season 1 character. It's almost expected now that each season they're going to kill 3 or more Season 1 characters, but there aren't that many left. I'm sure they could deliver a few shocking deaths with Season 2, 3 and 4 characters.
Speaking of original cast members...
Why the heck haven't the producers moved Melissa McBride into the opening credits yet? She may be a supporting player, but she had a lot more to do and say than Sarah Wayne Callies did in Season 3, and she remained in the opening credits long after Lori died. By keeping McBride out of the opening credits, do they want us to think it makes Carol more expendable than the actors in the opening credits? Even the kid who plays Carl is in the opening credits, and his role isn't very big either.

Still, I'm still not clear on how producers determine which regulars' names appear during the show's theme music and which ones get listed as "also starring" after the first commercial break. I always took it as a sign that the "also starring" actors played less important, supporting characters and were therefore more expendable... not just on this show but on other shows that handle their credits the same way.

I remember on one of the episodes the governor mentioning having to take orders from a young idiot. From my brief experience of working in retail, I knew where he was coming from.
