That's actually kind of a great way to target their demo.

Thanks for the link. No official channel yet, but looks like Dish will be getting it starting 9/2 as well.

619? Temporary home, I'm hoping?

It says Channel 403 for Charter. Big issue: No HD version?

Re: FX launching new channel come September, FXX

It says channel 267 for my area. (Kansas City, Missouri-Comcast.)

Which is odd...that's in the middle of what are currently standard def sports channels. So...are they totally going to revamp their channel line up in September?

I am tempted to call them to find out but I am not sure if it's worth the frustration to get some idiot on the phone in some call center that doesn't even live where I get service and likely just say, "I dunno" after being on hold for 30 minutes.

thats what i'm confused too. as FXX is essentially going where Fox Soccer is, & thats in the sports section. curious if they move the channel location when it comes time

Re: FX launching new channel come September, FXX

Surely it moves. Fox Sports 1 replaces Fox Soccer and they moved it to an appropriate channel near the other main sports channels(ESPN, NBCSN, etc.) wouldn't make sense to put FXX in the middle of the regional sports channel area.

Re: FX launching new channel come September, FXX

Charter skips from 2XX to 5XX on my guide, and FXX is 403, so I would assume they're mvoing it away from sports channels.

Re: FX launching new channel come September, FXX

Well, FXX is officially on the air, with the previously mentioned Parks and Rec marathon. Time Warner didn't waste time in changing the channel name and logo in my guide.

On tuesday the schedule includes: Spin City, Mad About You, The Hughleys, Sports Night, Arrested Development and How I Met Your Mother. Most will start with their pilots.

They're really making this hard on fans of Sunny and The League. Most people just "fire and forget" their season passes and don't scour the Internet for information on the off-chance that a show that's been on for years might change nights and channels.

Yeah not sure why they didn't just move it right away, since I'm sure they will eventually.

For this reason I am quite befuddled by their new FXX channel. Why not just rebrand FX? I don't see a reason why FXX has to exist when it's basically copying the line up from FX.

Looks like FXX isn't included in my current FiOS bundle.

As much as I would like to catch Sunny and The League, I'm not adding any extra channels to do so.

They're shifting the branding to the TNT/TBS model. TNT is focused on Drama, TBS comedy. FX is going to be the Drama channel (with a little comedy), while FXX is the comedy channel (with a little drama).

I am sure they want to remap it into the 200's but they're apparently is some process they need to go through in order to get it done.

They should just map it to 250 (currently MALL - a shopping channel). I assume CC doesn't want to move (don't blame them) from 249, but 250 is close enough to move it to. But I don't know what they make from these shopping channels.

Problem is, there's going to be another FX channel next year, so they probably want to get them all together. My guess is that is why they havent' moved it yet. I'm sure it's going to require some moving of a few channels.
