The hyperbole is strong with this one.

I liked it. It does take its time developing the story, but I appreciate that, as long as it does eventually go somewhere--which this did with the resolution of many of their individual story arcs and the development of the longer story arc with the Whisper character.

I really hope we get a chance to see the rest of the story.

My take on Angelica:

Spoiler:
She didn't have to die to activate the people. She died because Whispers was in her head, and she wanted to protect their identities.

The way I understood it, there are people in the world with the genetic capabilities to be sensates, but they lie "dormant" until they are "reborn." Apparently an existing sensate can facilitate this "birthing" process, waking 8 new individuals who become a cluster.

Yrsa warns Riley that Jonas and Angelica had apparently helped Whispers in the past by giving "birth" to new clusters and then helping identifying them for him. So a sensate doesn't have to die to give birth to a new cluster.

Of course it was, it's boring as hell. Nicely shot and it looks good but jesus god damn christ, nothing like taking 3 episodes of content and stretching it to 12 episodes. I could care less if this comes back or not. It's like they took a concept and just made a 12 episode trailer for it.

OK don't watch anymore then.

I enjoyed it. I liked the fact that they didn't give away al the answers right away.

I thought the pacing was fine.

I think some weren't expecting this to be more about these people's relationships rather than a straight up john woo thriller

I really enjoyed the show, although it really is a slow burn, with most of the plot only coming to a head in the last few. It really is more Cloud Atlas than The Matrix, to use comparisons to Wachowki films.

Speed Race, Cloud Atlas , Jupiter Ascending and now this crap. I should've known better. And don't worry I won't watch it anymore. Hopefully it doesn't come back and the money can be put into a real project worth watching. Let's not forget the two crap Matrix sequels. Worst writer directors since M.Night

While The Wachowski's always seem to have bigger ideas then they actually are capable of delivering, I thought they did an excellent job on this one. If you only watch 3 episodes it certainly feels like it goes no where, but I feel like watching the entire season makes me appreciate the time spent with each character early on.

hdtv00 seems awfully angry about it for some reason though

Just finished this season and it got better as it went on yet had a SLOW start. It took forever to get going. I also often found myself a bit bored when nothing happened for too long and other times it was perfectly entertaining. Unless thing move a bit faster I would be fine with just one more season to tell a complete story.

re: Sense8 (Netflix) - from Wachowskis & J. Michael Straczynski - Series Thread

I binged this the last couple of days and loved every episode. It is odd that only three members of the cluster (Chicago cop, Nomi, and Riley) were directly involved in the main arc but I enjoyed the focus on the individual storylines more (though I am interested in learning more about the bigger picture). Heck, my absolute favorite character was Lito and he only helps out with regards to the main arc in the final episode. Yet I was most invested in his storyline.

All in all, a great show and I look forward to a second season.

So you're only options for web browsing are your PC and your PS3? No smartphone or tablet?

You could probably plug your USB keyboard from your PC into your PS3 to make typing posts easier:

I don't own a smartphone or tablet. I never got the hang of either (like Dr. Grant, I am not machine compatible). Heck, my phone of choice is a $5 prepaid flip-phone.

I am using my wireless keyboard and mouse on my PS3. But the browser is so clunky that I still need to ocassionally use my PS3 controller for navigation and most sites freeze my PS3 (forcing me to shut it down manually in order to get it working again).

We are on episode 3. For me the pacing is right, really enjoying the show.

So reading that the show gets better is really great news.

Just finished up the final episode.

Enjoyed the series overall, and any of plot holes, lazy conveniences or weird dialogue was negated by the cinematic look and feel.

I'm in for season 2...
