If you had been paying more attention to the dialog (rather than the crossbow arrows) you'd know it was more than an "implication".

Traumatic i'm sure, but I thought Maggie's reaction back at the prison was a bit much too.

Glad I'm not the only one. Her shit is really getting old.

Chalk me up as another who was surprised by Axel's departure. I seriously thought they were setting him up as a possible love interest more than anything.

And I thought that Tyrese and his group would be the ones coming to Rick & Hershel's rescue. A reintroduction if you will.

It is interesting how Tyrese just came and went so quickly. I just finished the first omnibus of the comics and he plays such a huge and important part in them that it is surprising how we are into the middle of the 3rd season and he has had just scant minutes of screen time.

I'm not really happy with the group right now. I miss badass Carl, take-charge Rick, bitter and bold Hershel, no character like Shane to play off of, etc. Just kinda bored with the group as it is right now. Hopefully that will change over the next few episodes.

Did anyone else's dvr mess up while recording this? I didn't know about the whole shootout at the end until reading this thread. I was very confused, thinking you guys were talking about spoilers for next week. Then my wife was mentioning about reading about a shootout at the end too.

My dvr cut out right after the commercial break when the Governor showed up. Missed the whole gunfight at the end.

Just saw it now on torrent. WOW! I thought I was going to have to wait a week to see what happened next! I may have to get a new dvr or something.

I thought AMC rebroadcast this show several times over the week?

Any interest in TWD Black & White? Really didn't seem that interesting until I saw actual footage.

Lol, no I knew he'd be back. But the show doesn't have stock placed in Tyreese's character. They have major stock placed in Daryl's at this point. And they already pissed away the characters of Dale, and Andrea.

So my anger is valid.

Re: The Walking Dead -- "Home" -- 2/17/13

Let me preface this with the following. I get how incredibly nitpicky the following rant is, I do...but I can't help myself. I just can't hold it in any longer..

My fucking god, if one more person drives around in a car with the windows down on this show, I am going to lose it. Seriously (well, not really), what the hell? Rule number one of driver 101 during a zombie outbreak is LOCK YOUR FREAKING DOOR AND ROLL UP YOUR DAMN WINDOWS!

It seems like every time they drive somewhere their windows are at least partially rolled down. At this point I'm rooting for the damn walkers...

On a side note, my wife thinks I am crazy for noticing this every time it happens. Just like she thought it was crazy when I got annoyed by Jack from Lost and his horrible habit of showering and getting dressed without drying off first....

If you were driving and things looked pretty open, I could see having the windows open a crack. It's hot in the south and using AC would deplete your fuel faster. But once you saw a group of zombies, roll them up.

Or if you're Lori, crash violently after hitting one stray zombie in the middle of an empty dirt road.

It's a pretty cool excuse to re-run the episodes, IMO.

Yeah, fuck Maggie for being mentally traumatized by the threat of rape and death and not getting over it within a day!

But he isn't leaving any behind anymore. He's retrieving literally every single one. That still not enough for you?

Re: The Walking Dead -- "Home" -- 2/17/13

Umm.. I think you guys missed the entire reason why Maggie is upset. In short, you guys are being a Glen by focusing on the wrong thing.

Maggie is pissed that what Glen is upset about is her "damaged goods" and his impotence over not being able to protect her (as evident by him trying to be Rambo this week). Her being assaulted was bad, it clearly was traumatic, but clearly it is Glen that is doing all the damage right now. Check out the bit where he only tried to comfort her after she said she wasn't actually raped.

It is pretty common for this sorta thing to happen to rape victims; very often the significant other can't cope with it. Bravo to the show for actually letting something like that play out. I suspect they'll have another heart-to-heart on the subject in an episode or two.

Maggie should still get over it, there's bigger things going on. Women.

Re: The Walking Dead -- "Home" -- 2/17/13

As for target shooting zombies: This shoot-out was entirely realistic if you agree that zombie shooting is closer to target shooting then it is actual combat. What studies have shown is target shooting skill has very little correlation to in-combat shooting. Combat shooting accuracy is actually pretty bad, and everyone universally sucks at it. The greatest indicator to who survives a shoot-out isn't who is the best shot, but who has the best cover to hide behind. That's it.

If you argue that zombie shooting is more like combat where panic sets in, then, and only then, does the shoot-out become silly as they'd be missing everything.

To her credit, she did snap out of it by bringing guns and helping to blow away the zombies at the end.

Also, zombie head trunk smash was naaaaaasty.

Discussing any realistic shooting in this show should be pointless by now. They're going to be excellent shots, until it is convenient for them not to be for suspense sake. It's a TV show

Yeah, the trunk smash was great. This show does make way for some awesome zombie death blows.

I have always thought that it would make it more suspenseful if everyone didn't seemingly have an aimbot.

That's exactly what my wife said too (aside from calling me an OCD weirdo)..."what if they are hot?" To which I responded, there are walkers trying to munch on their toasty flesh, deal with the frigging heat! But alas, much like my loathing of Jack and his post showering insanity, I think I am alone in my thinking on this one...

I need to watch the fight again, but when Beth came out with the weapons for Maggie (or vice versa...can't remember who did what, but they were both out there), who was left watching the baby?

Re: The Walking Dead -- "Home" -- 2/17/13

Incidentally, the gang of Mythbusters will be doing a Walking Dead myth episode. I'd love to see them tackle the head-shot myth where slow linear moving targets are impossible to hit in the head.

Unless, of course, they don't hit shit. If that happens I'll quickly delete this post and mosey back to the Amazing Race thread.
